Seeing Jesse's explanation made me appreciate this so much more. Courtney basically happened to be closeby so her addition to the song is basically a cherry on top for this awesome video.

I'm mixed on this one to be honest!! I absolutely adore the original song, and if this version were the original version we heard on the album, I'd have absolutely no complaints with it. It's a gorgeous track. I guess the main issue I have is that given it's a re-release, I was really hoping that Courtney would be given a significant feature, similar to Sam on Yellowjacket. It just feels like a missed opportunity given her vocal range like you said to just have her on 20 seconds of the track. I would have loved her voice on the choruses. I just feel left wanting more than we got unfortunately.

Well there's one reason to this. She mentioned that the ending part was her favorite part of the song so she asked to sing that specific part. So I believe that's why they went that route.

Personally i think the feature was perfect. IMO the verse Courtney sang is the most impactful in the track, and it gives off a slightly more emotional twist on that verse, again just my opinion. It may have been nice to hear a Courtney harmony in the chorus but it's not a deal breaker for me. I can understand this feature being divisive as this track is so suited to Jesse's vocals and is probably one of his best vocal performances, but there's something about Courtney singing that verse that sparks a different emotion in me.

I have literally no complaints bc this is one of my favourite songs ever, and Courtney is incredible as well. I really liked her feature here, it gave me hella chills. They could've used her vocal range more if anything but still, all this did was add to how much I enjoyed the song.

Yeah I was bummed. Her voice was perfect where it was placed. But a huge missed opportunity to really add some huge moments to this song. Duet vocals on a chorus could have been incredible.

This feels a bit like a wasted chance to one up the original by having Courtney add original parts to the song, scream and cleans. But this is definitely at least as good as the original!

Adding original parts to the song would probably ruin the song. It's already a 20/10 song.

Beautiful but not sure why they waited till the last min on a 5 min song to feature her on one chorus. And a couple background vocal layers. Why not just let her take all the chorus or switch off verses. A little more would have been nice

I don't love the way this feature was done, I do wish it was more of a different version than the original. it's not that I dislike the feature itself but they could have done much better with this

What a huge letdown. Almost completely missed where they even had Courtney show up at all, at the very end no less. The difference from the original is negligible at best, as great of a job as she did.
