I befriended the crows in my neighborhood. Best thing I've ever done for my daily domestic life. They never poop on our stuff, they bring occasional gifts, they follow the car on short trips as if they're protecting us (and we let them believe it), they're a great alarm system, they always bring by their new babies and it's somehow communicated to the little ones that our house is the "cool" house. Also, I never need to worry about oversleeping because if I do, they continuously fly past my window until I notice and wake up. Not crowing -- just doing fly-bys. They stop by to say hello throughout the day and they include me in their occasional but sad funerals. I know I sound crazy but this is actual, typical scientific crow behavior. We have about 50 every day until winter and then it swells to 200 or more. They really are the coolest, sweetest, funniest animals. We feed them twice a day and when they gather there's silence, except for the shifting of their feet along the roofline, as if in reverence. They wait for me in thick, iridescent black lines surrounding my yard -- all along the rooflines, powerlines and branches. When I toss the food around the grass, there's this graceful flurry of wings softly beating all around me, as they spiral around me and flutter to the ground to eat. It never gets old. I keep a large birdbath for them as well because there are no clean water sources around where I live. It's a pain to clean it all the time, but they love to groom themselves and sometimes "wash" their food. I live down south so the water never freezes. I've tried to feed them on a big platter but they rather look through the grass. I'm not sure if the big round object spooks them, or if they want more space, or if they just enjoy the foraging. My neighbors were pissed at first but now they enjoy them too. I think once people realize how community- and family-oriented they are it surprises them. They're not creepy at all and they're so damn smart. Their ability to communicate with other species (not just humans) is outstanding. My dog inadvertently taught them how to "bark."😆 Sorry for the book. I just love the little guys.

I've never 'befriended' crows, but I am cordial neighbors with them. I mimic their caws, and they start doing the same caw back so I can be their own personal echo. When I'm gardening, they sit on the line and watch me. I am free entertainment. They are in every way the superior wild neighbors; the absolute worst are the squirrels, who curse and deliberately aim for my head and throw things at me when I walk under the trees. True and irrevocable a$$holery 😤😠

@@CleoHarperReturns as an avowed crowbro i agree. my crows are on mixed terms with me because i fed one of their babies directly one time while it was on my roof. it fell out of the nest, and i couldn't put it back in the tree (a redwood - not climbable or ladder-compatible), and there are many outdoor cats and off-leash dogs where i live, so it wasn't safe on the ground, and the roof was the closest option. the crows were fine with me picking up the baby. they were fine with me setting it gently in a basket with a towel inside. they were fine with me carrying it up onto the roof, especially when i held the basket over my head like it was some kind of monarch child. what they were NOT fine with was me coming up onto the roof later to set a bucket on its side for the beeb as a windbreak/rain break and putting a piece of kibble in its beak. that part was clearly some form of assault. several years and countless hot dogs later, we are on okay terms again, but that was still one of the most heartbreaking things i've ever had happen to me. worse than any breakup or friend dispute tbh. i was sad for months.

Rachel, just so you know, in Adobe reader, you can print out the patterns in just your size. That way the pattern only has your size lines to cut out. Its on the right hand side of the page, it looks like stacked pages icon. It's called layers. You click into it and all the sizes should be listed. You unclick the ones you don't need and that way you are left with only the lines to cut out in your particular size. I hope this makes sense. There are loads of tutorials on how to print just your size online. Lee :)

So, I have a book titled Heloise's Housekeeping Hints, and in it, she suggests that you time your closet clearing to when you're really angry. According to Heloise (whose book also suggests going with the thinner bacon to save money because your husband will only know the difference if you tell him 😉), you're less willing to be sentimental when you're pissed off, and your closet will be cleaner in the end. Not sure if I agree with it or not, but there you go! 🙃

@@m.maclellan7147 I know I saw a basics of sergers on youtube somewhere. The lady tells us what each one of the threads do so it's less mysterious. I inherited one from a neighbor so I finally took the plunge to learn to use it and it opens some doors, like knits, clean construction without lining, fixing old projects that fray, and stuff I haven't even tried yet like working with wooly threads for fancy edges... Oh and lettuce edges too. One of the best things I figured out was to color code your threads when you start and put a label on each knob so I know what is doing what. Then sew a bit with it to learn what color goes where.

Macklemore ref cracked me up. Keep tossing those peanuts. The crows will catch on soon enough. I'm in San Francisco with only a fire escape on which to entertain the local bonded crow pair, and they have me really well trained. They show up on the railing of the fire escape right outside my bedroom window, and that's their signal for me to get crackin' with the peanuts. I put them on the fire escape ladder and the two corbies swoop in and go ham on the peanuts. Watching them up close (okay, from about eight feet away) is a delight.

Attach the lining and blouse (or whatever your making) together. Good sides facing out on both pieces. You will fold the fabric to the inside on both pieces whish will create a hem. You can sew it by macior by hand, your choice. This will give your bloyse (or whatever) a beautiful finished hem all the way around, top and bottom. Also, all seamsate now hidden between your fabric and lining, which leaves you with a professional finish.

It's crazy how pants are simultaneously the simplest pattern ever and the most impossibly confusing 😅 super secret pants turned out great tho!

Looooove the corset, the texture and structure from the blazer made it turn out sooo great! Also LOVE the pants. I need to do that for myself. I can never find culottes or palazzo pants that fit me right. I love a good thrift flip so I love this type of video! Even better when you're thrift flipping from your own closet 👌

Ohhh that blazer! It fits you in a way I've been looking for soooo long. That one hurt me, but of course, the end product was absolutely perfect for you! That embroidery machine is so cool and I never thought I wanted one until I watched this video... Now I have a ✨MIGHTY NEED✨ and all the loving little details and hand work is 😙🤌 chefs kiss! The yellow and white top is adorable and makes you look like a lemon meringue pie 🥧 in the best way possible. You picked the perfect skirt to make into the pants, they're flowy and light and perfect for the style. As always, a very enjoyable video and one that has inspired me to start cutting up my own wardrobe again 😁

The pants and the vest corset look so amazing. I like the yellow and white top, too, but I think the brown ribbon you used at the top makes it look a little homemade. I think you should use the scraps of yellow fabric to make a ribbon for the drawstring and that will pull it all together. If there's really not enough yellow fabric, then maybe find a yellow ribbon that matches to use for the drawstring. Anyway, all the projects look pretty and it's super impressive how you upcycled everything.
