Nearly 20 years after Shine David is still hoofing it with the Rach 3 and doing a wonderful job considering the incredibly difficult demands placed on the soloist. David is a complex man. He was found playing in a bar in Perth in Western Australia, by a Dr. The Dr took him under his wing and helped him over come many mental issues he had. From there he started playing in bigger venues rather than in the local pub. David used to perform at the Mundaring Weir hotel in February ( the hottest month of the year ) and by night fall the place was jam packed. he played numerous pieces from Liszt, Chopin, Brahms etc to a standing ovation. I have no idea where he is now or if he is still performing. What was somewhat amusing was listening to him humming along to the piece he was playing, but after a while ones ears became accustomed to his humming. And so David soon became a house hold name
