Bravo. It is, indeed, hard to imagine the difference between this and the real thing. At first I was uncomfortable with the synth action on my 6, but have since found it quite useable and responsive. Assuming your 8? has a better keybed, but as always, it's the performer and what he does with what he/she has on hand. Bravo!

I have a MODX 7. More demanding piano gigs I play with my MOTIF XF8, if necessary with the MODX as MIDI slave. However, I also have the American Grand Library installed on the Motif. In tight stage situations, I'm always glad for the little MODX. However, you must not ruin the keyboard with too hard a touch, that is true.

The company is Synthogy and the library American Grand www.synthogy.com/index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=product&task=show&cid=54&name=synthogy-american-grand&Itemid=215&category_pathway= My custom patch „Steinway A“ (although it is a sample of the Steinway D) is on Soundmondo: soundmondo.yamahasynth.com/voices/55883 Without the library the patch won‘t work. The performances that come with the library are good, but I think I managed to improve them quite a lot. There are many more custom patches on my MODX, but not on Soundmondo. I use them in the first place when I need an outstanding piano sound. It is astonishing, although it doesn‘t sound extremely bright, it is clearly present in the bandmix, very ear-friendly. And due to the detailed multisample it reacts even played on the synth action nearly like an acoustic piano.
