Its my go to gun right now. I like it for compound fights. Out in the open, at longer distances I think it does seem lacking. But its basically an Ironside without the big annoying box in your face. And getting 6 rounds back versus 1 or 2 per ammo box is nice.

It also just has such a better sight picture than the Ironside. I don't think it's redundant, rather it completely replaces Ironside for most people

@@MillieMoses The only real issue, like I was saying, is longer distances. With the drop off its pretty tricky to hit anything thats past drop-off. It seems like the sights have some sort of issue where you have to aim higher than you should need to. But other than that, its a beast.

@@stee_peep 6 star lobbies aren't tough, they're lame. No one wants to fight, just ambush. God help you if you get to boss first, you just get camped from 3+ teams. No one fights each other, just wait to ambush you and the others 3rd and 4th party late fight.

I think there is a reason it is a medium ammo rifle at only 70 hunt dollars... it is not really competitive. Maybe the best way to play it is to take FMJ and spam wall bangs as it has high damage with many rounds in the magazine and a fast reload.

I think the mangled sights are part of the reason this gun isn't performing well. The tip of the foresight lines up with the outside part of the rearsight , not the inside bit as one would expect. Under pressure and low light conditions it's easy to miss by shooting over your opponents, not a good thing at all given the gun's slow cycle rate. Crytek goes to a lot of effort with how they model their guns, but sometimes they get things wrong too (just look at how abysmal the Berthier's sights were before the 1896 update).

This gun is absolutely cursed for me too. I don't get why. The first 7 games I tried to run with it I couldn't get a shot off. And if you don't take advantage of the high base damage within 30 meters like Ratcha does here then it just feels like "why tf am I not using the ironside?"

Well i think the problem you have with this weapon (and also many other people) is the low bullet velocity. We are used to fast shooting guns so that we have our aim directly on enemy Hunters but if you do it with the carbine it wont work, because the bullet is to slow for that. So you kinda have to preaim in front of that hunter and predict where he will be in a short time, and thats just kinda hard to figure out at the beginning.

I personally really love this gun as someone that struggles to get headshots most of the time (don't get me wrong, if I decided to go for headshots I'd be able to get kills, but probably less often). Personally I have a better time using this because I've played LOTS of hours with Pax and this gun has a similar muzzle velocity. For 70 dollars you get a gun that can one torso shot hunters missing a bar up to god knows how many meters with FMJ (50, 60, maybe 70m?), decent reload, big ammo pool in exchange for having the slowest muzzle velocity seen in a rifle. If you use it at the ranges Medium ammo is supposed to be proficient at, and focus on leading more than the average weapon, you can get some mileage out of it :D

with FMJ, Medium ammo goes to 40m, so subtract 1dmg for every meter past 40. 59/60m is where itll stop one tapping hunters missing a bar

They do really need to do something about the trading, happened literally 5 games in a row a few weeks back where i traded with the last guy close range. Had to take a little break after that. Also idk with the lobbies, very few people ever want to push, will wait like 10 mins and get bored then just try to fight everyone because i want to play the game. This has become one of my go to weapons, IN 6 STAR. The damage is nice, but at a high level is less important than its better attributes; huge ammo upkeep, near instant reloads, and fair drop range. WITH FmJ, it changes into a hole punch in compounds/cover. Plus it sounds cool idk shut up

I actually really like the 1865 and it has become one of my standard primaries. I prefer it over iron side because the big chunk of metal in my screen really annoys me. I found the Carbine to be really good if you get some burn damage in beforehand with a firebolt crossbow.

Medium ammo doesn't carry damage as well as long; starts at 30 meters and drops quicker over range. The velocity and damage makes it feel like it should hit like a martini henry, but the ammo type doesn't carry it like one.

17:10 I dont know what you mean, the trade window crytek implemented 2019 is great, i mean a dead player can trade kill you within a maximum of 800ms, this favours high pinger, before this update prefered low pingers, when you kill that guy that info came earlier to the server and the server invalided all shots at this point when you gave the info to the server that he is already dead.
