Is underfloor heating big in the UK, or is it just a trendy quality of life improvement that people have been gravitating towards lately? It isn’t super common in the US, but seems like a really nice feature. Really looking forward to seeing the finished room, but I love your progress videos. Good luck in the final stretch!!!
@RestoringNumberFour4 күн бұрын
Hey! It's not as common as radiators for heating but it's growing in popularity. Electric is easiest bit more expensive to run, but it's a great moment for us to install water based while the house is in this state, you are meant to be able to more evenly heat the rooms and at a lower heat, so let's see will keep you posted! What form of heat do you have? Don't worry we have soooo much more progress to do in the rest of the house after this room haha x
@redhexer4 күн бұрын
@@RestoringNumberFour Thanks for humoring my curiosity! I'm from the Midwest (Chicago), so forced air is the standard here, but I know that some newer constructions around the Midwest have started to rely on geothermal heat. Radiators are uncommon/being phased out unless it's an older building or apartment complex.

So that's been plastered and we will be painting it, maybe with some shiplap panelling or think that would be too much?
@GardenerPhyl4 күн бұрын
@@RestoringNumberFourin my opinion shiplap might be too much texture with all the tile. Let the gorgeous window shine with a white tile background and those stunning green tiles in the shower. I would go with a white paint for the rest of the room, so that your floor and wall tiles won’t have to compete. Bring in a white wall tile and your floor tiles to the paint store with you. It’ll help you decide on one of the hundred variations of white. 🫣 Stunning work you two!
