RWD, found you on youtube when you're video was put out on orientation with CFI. You have really made progress. I posted a comment 8 months ago that I wasn't getting the miles that was promised at CFI and stayed a few months more giving them a chance. Ended up leaving. Joined up with Koch Transportation for better pay. Home everyday running local and still make better miles than CFI. Not a mega carrier so no micro managing. Miss the open road. Thought about returning to CRETE since they raised the pay to .54 cpm and does have good miles as a fact. Stay safe

Dave always check with the yard driver b4 you leave. They may have a trailer in the door they have to pull out. I’ve gotten lucky b4 by doing that .

When are you looking for a trailer that's some in places it's better to get out and look inside. There is some in places like that use our trailer for storage I've had them with the back door open and stuff in the front of the trailer they using it for storage

Love your videos man .that empty trailer hunting sounds like a hassle . Jumping in and out of your truck to check if it's empty . I been with schneider for a couple years. We have a feature on our tablet that shows us a list of empty trailer numbers and even a map of the yard with the location of each empty trailer. It's pretty cool .

Most companies/ consignee have a department "TRAFFIC" that will let you know if there's an empty trailer on the yard, empty in a door, or where to get an empty.. Sometimes they will reserve it for you if you are on the yard.. It will save you a lot of time driving around.. Yard jockeys can give you up to the minute info.. There is always a lag in receiving info.. Trailer unloaded/ MT Trailer put on yard/ yard jockey reports trailer & slot to traffic/ Traffic reports trailer availability to trucking company.. With good communication, many times you can get a trailer directly from a dock.. With time, you will gain contacts at companies that will make this easier for you.. Good luck..
