Hey Dave, just got my CDL today! You're videos inspired me to try out the trucking industry and now I have a CDL and will be starting orientation at Werner next week!
@srichardson7713 жыл бұрын
Werner was my first place after CDL School.. Watch Dave's Video's about how his Trainer was in the Passenger seat helping him.. Werner will not do that for U as a new Driver..Ur Trainer at Werner will sleep when U drive and He will drive while U sleep.. He gets payed by mileage and U will get payed minimum wage.. My trainer took me from Cali to Allentown PA over the hrs I needed to qualify as being trained..

Being nice to customers has paid for me as well. The drivers I work with always complain about a certain customer saying they take 2 or 3 hours, but every time i'm there I try and be super nice to them and they take about 30 minutes to an hour for me.

Hey Dave! I’m a rookie here just got my CDL 2 month’s ago and I’ve been at my first job for two weeks now as a local driver. I just want to tell you. I’ve binged watched all your videos from the point I wanted to pursue my cdl permit and license which was back in Aug-Sept... even till today all your videos have helped me in backing a 53’ foot which I’ve never driven. Since I practiced in a 45 foot. But man oh man. You’ve been an inspiration to many. Please keep up what you do best as it is truly and encouragement to us all 🙏🏽🙏🏽

7:20 hey bro a little friendly tip from trucker Bran, lol. you could release your brakes while the engine is getting started (letting the electronics prime fuel), that way when you start it while letting the diesel start delayed, without slowing down once it fires up. Hope that made sense or might help you shave off 5 seconds or so everytime you wanna get rolling asap from parked and shutdown... you probably know this. anyway lol ( ps just make sure you hold service brakes while releasing the spring parking brakes / starting it up that way

I'm late all the damn time cause they give me loads late and shit but I've yet to come across a place that cared. Just sign in and they unload. I've honestly gotten to the point where I don't even look at the times just show up as soon as I can. I do check the hours of the place so I don't show up and theyre closed. If I'm supposed to be there at a certain time dispatch will usually stress that to me.

Do you come to Jacksonville y’all have a small drop yard witch my company owns maybe I’ll see you there
@MrFriday833 жыл бұрын
You should be very proud of the fact of never being late, but CFI deserves some credit there too, with certain accounts you're just late, and late a lot no power to control and regain time. Being late is usually to do with being over worked, and depression. I personally refuse to call any truck driver as lazy,(maybe with the trash lol) we all work way to much and can understand the temptation to say FUX THIS, its tight im not gonna run that hard today. Then again, im a trucker and I hate trucking and beginning to become jealous of drivers who can say "Im burnt out im done, if you give me a load, I'm going to be late or not take it, I need rest" and actually DO IT! Thats pretty awesome in my book

How do you record your POV? Do you use that hat clip or the headband go pro mount?
@annahenrietta95173 жыл бұрын
Dave you can use Google maps and it will tell you when to wake up. Let's say your appointment is at 7 and you want 1 hour to wake up and 1 hour extra time. You tell Google you want to get there at 5 and Google will calculate your "time of departure" which for you would be wakey wakey time. 😁 And it takes in account traffic and everything on the way. P. S: Only issue with that might be the fact that Google doesn't account for truck forbidden roads so it might mess up the route and timing... Oh well, forget I said anything...
