I saw one of the drivers during the Bathurst 12h in 2016 doing something very curious. He brake normally for the first corner but then he engine brakes the rest of the way down. Basically what he did was: 9:00 brake, reduced from 5th to 4th carrying more speed then usual, then 9:04 reduced from 4th to 3rd, then he accelerated just slightly out of the corner and at 9:08 he just let go of the throttle completely and just used momentum up to 9:12 were he accelerated again to the hairpin. It was during the race so i think he was trying to save the brakes maybe (i see some teams changing brakes during the race) but i tryed to replicate it in Project Cars and it kinda worked.
@cletus9936 жыл бұрын
Sebring last corner is not easy, the surface changes right in the middle of the breaking zone, it is full of disconnection in the pavement and has a little if not any mark at all to take as a reference, plus its radius is not constant. Very tricky do get it right in back to back laps when you're pushing.

@Ward17066 жыл бұрын
For me, The Dipper itself is fine. The approach off Skyline however, particularly on GT Sport, is really tricky, because you basically arrive there out of control and have to feed it gears and hope it works. It's vicious in GT Sport because if you use the curb or go down the emergency road, you get a way too harsh penalty.

I drive formula one in spa (in a video game of course), and i do eau rouge flat out. For most cars, it is not flatable, so here are some tips to be as fast as possible up this high speed s-shaped corner: Please read, these may help. 1. I would say a wide entry to eau rouge is not necessary, because you may end up crashing to the left side due to understeer. 2. Hit the second apex as early as possible, so that the entry to raidillon will not be compromised as it would lead to kemmels straight, a good part of the track to gain time. 3. Keep the wheel steady as much as possible while entering raidillon. Just make sure your eau rouge lines are good. 4. It's better to be slow on the entry than to be slow on the exit.

My favorite section of the Ring, got first on your list. After the jump & right corner. High speed subtle turns through a beautiful prairie like area, then a more noticable left turn, down a hill to a sharp right, before an underpass. That section cheers me up, more then the carousel, or the massive straight that leads to an exciting area, that I need to lose a lot of speed in, before the pit & finish line section. The Nurburgring is so nice & fun. It's not a green hell to me. I wish there was a road like it, in the US, or a grand bridge connecting North America, to Europe.

My own top five (from least to most difficult) would be Spoon (Suzuka), T2-T3-T3A-T4 (Sonoma Raceway), Indianapolis (Le Mans), Skyline-Esses-Dipper (Bathurst), and both Schwedenkreuz & Adenauer Forst (Nurburgring Nordschleife).... I don't know why, maybe because I'm using controller that makes me very hard to tackle those corners cleanly. But some from your list are less harder to tackle. For me Laguna Seca's Corkscrew are not into my top 5 because I "eat" that downhill chicane in most of racing games (including motorcycle racing games) so many times I actually get used to it. And about Tiergarten-Hohenrain section since I already know where and when to hit the brakes and downshift the gear it's not included in my top 5. OOT. Tried Project CARS 2 for the first time using controller. It was a disaster. OVERSTEERING FOR DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYZ......!!!!!

Napo Hmmm, maybe because of what kind of controller used, maybe because of the authentic feel settings.... Either way even in low-powered GT5 class cars I can't seem to tackle corners properly. It's either rear tire spin, slow turns which costs time, or get rammed by AI on the side and the back.... I guess oval tracks are the only place I could finish a lap properly.... IMO PCars 2 really demands you to have a racing wheel. Something that I couldn't afford, unfortunately... T_T

The chase chicane on Mount panorama 1st turn of the chicane(weird I know) You're going from 250kmh to 370kmh depending on the car and you have to turn right at that speed Chance of hitting the kerb that can launch your car into air and even damage it and spin depending on the sim If you're overtaking well tough luck Braking point is for most cars the 150m few things do benefit you is the fact that it's a uphill the corner seems to be banked by a slight and there is some grass before the sand trap also I suggest with gt and touring cars to brake before the side mirrors pass the Chek mark 2nd part If you haven't entered the grass or god forbid sand then you do this part like any other turn just don't spin and focus on where your car is and where is the car/s 3rd part If you're alone then you can take this part full on with a gt3 car or a hybrid lmp1 car if you're not alone in this part then watch out where your car is and where are/is the other car/s otherwise with ai they might hit you many time and you will end up in a sand trap like I did at 20:38 yesterday

I was thinking of some corners that could be on a 2nd video and are also a problem for racers, even for some experienced drivers: -Copse at Silverstone: Very hard to drive flatout or even a small lift if you don't turn at THE exact point. Turn a bit early or late you got into trouble. -Parabolica at Monza: Also very challenging. You had to respect the "slow in, fast out" concept, but again, most players doesn't know exactly when to turn, when to ease the brake and how deeply you go to the inside until the apex. The reacceleration can add some trouble, since lots of racers go way too far to outside or the inside. -Sunset Bend at Sebring: Even for me, the braking and apex point of this incredible corner was a mystery until recently. You have to think the corner in two parts. First is to create a imaginary straight for braking when braking lightly to the right. Second part is to go to the apex, which in fact really late. You had see the beginning of the first on the straight to full throttle and begin to open the wheel. Of course, you have to deal with the heavy bumps and concrete while turning, who can cause some oversteer or understeer if you don't feather correctly. -Clearways and Clark Curve at Brands Hatch: Braking is easy since it's straight but the corner itself is a big dip and cause understeer most of the time. You have to know when to be full throttle without being off the track. I've got also in mind the Renault Curve at Barcelona Le Beausset at Paul Ricard, the first turn at Hockenheim, Dunlop Curve at Suzuka, and La Rascasse at Monaco. Great video, it was really useful to me as a reminder ! And i'm sure this will help a lot of people.

for Mulsanne, the best way to take the corner efficiently, is with a LMP2. like Ligier JS P2, Oreca 03, Zytek Z11SN, or whatever. what I usually do is trying to brake on a staight line as much as possible. I don't brake before the kink. I brake in the middle of the kink. I slowly shift from 6th to 2nd and when I'm in 2nd gear, I turn the wheel at 180° and slowly recenter it while slightly giving some gas more and more. that's a real driver technique. Vincent Capillaire taught me that and it's very useful. one you know how to brake with the LMP2, you can brake way better with the other cars :)

I mean that first guy kinda deserved it for braking so damn early It happened to me today when I was playing forza on Hocken when a dude in a beatle was stopping wwaaayyyyyyyy too early and I accidently smashed into his rear 3 times slamming on the brakes trying to avoid a collision. I look in the lobby at the leaders to get an idea of what type of car they are using so I know what to expect and my brakes were definitely not better than theirs since I've been trying out all wheel drive cars recently. I expected to brake early so that I wouldn't have any issues but when you're braking hundreds of feet early there's not too much anyone can do about that yet alone react in time to avoid a collision. For example, after the first corner on Hocken you're supposed to brake late so that you enter the corner slow and wide for the best line, you definitely do not want to brake early and end up going slowly into position to enter the line, you want to stop braking almost at the line before you turn in. According to what i saw, he had about 3-5 car lengths left before he was supposed to start braking and I was prepared to brake in about 300-400ish milliseconds to brake early but that's def not what I got lol! And it happened on the next few corners as well I mean if you don't know your braking line too well that's one thing but stopping that early is kinda asking for a wreck to happen because that's when dive bombs start occuring and people who are near your rear start smashing because of unexpected braking. Thankfully they were just love taps because I jammed my brakes to avoid hitting the dude at 30+ MPH from his speed but there wasn't much else I could do about it. Personally if I don't know a track I just let anyone that catches up to me pass me because there's no reason to slow them down and cause a wreck because I don't know what I'm doing.

i found that the imola corner was hard because the downhill speeds and look of the first corner, makes it seem slower than it really is. Once i started braking slightly afterwards, it was cool. Monza just gets me everytime. The line is "goldilocks zone" if your on a 101% lap
@kholwayd98394 жыл бұрын
I think the most difficult is the chicane in the Monza gp circuit. You don’t see it after a long strait where you go at 200mph and you just cut throw the sverve and get 10 sucond penalty. Also, if you see it and remember it, getting a good time in it is impossible. I don’t know if any of you have done the lesmo corners mission in gt sport at the mi sa circuit. Getting gold is just.... it’s just NO

Honorable mentions: Baku castle section, Turns 10 and 12 at Bahrain F1 circuit, Wall of Champions Circuit Giles Vilnueve, and Variante Alta art Imola. Turns 1 and 2 at Shanghai are also tough.

Hey Viper these videos are super clean and instructive first of all thank you for them :D Second it would be nice to see your pedals to know how much throttle or brake you apply ^^ In Assetto is even easier because you can put the virtual pedals on screen Thanks for your time and help

@11:30 what is that red car in front? But I think out of them all, the Nür corner is by far the most paintful if you have traffic around... only second to the mount panorama corners...

Monza corners are easy for me to handle. I like that track. Driving in Spa Francorchamps is my fav track. When you need to brake little on the uphill corner I don't brake there. I go with full throttle. I steer early to avoid offtrack and cutting

My list : 1. Schwedenkreuz 2. Flugplatz 3. Anthony Noghes (I can't see the apex!) 4. Monaco Harbour chicane (blinding and very very tight) 5. Corkscrew Laguna Seca 6. Spoon Curve Suzuka (I always lose time there) 7. Wall of Champions Montreal (Harbour Chicane with less barriers) 8. Moraine Sweep (turn 5) at Road America (the turn that doesn't tolerate mistakes) 9. Sachs & 13th turn at Hockenheim (looks easy but it isn't, even Vettel went off the track there!)

Depending on the car I throw it straight into the right wall and use decent throttle to keep the car composed over the crest at the top of skyline then brake going back down at Bathurst.
@LFB_Wildlife6 жыл бұрын
For me, Bathurst was a challenge when I first started to play games that had Bathurst in it. Even though I’ve been to the track countless times. You need to use last millimeter on that track just to get it right. Watching GT3 cars go through each section of race track. Watching hours of the 1000 race and 12 hour to get where to place the car in a game and getting the racing line. Now I know how to get everything out of the car to get either good lap times are just to past a car by getting a good run. Bathurst is just one of the best tracks in the world. Also anyone going to the liqui moly Bathurst 12 hour in 2019???

Mt. Panorama is my nightmare. Those corners downhill are hard to master. Often I cut corner with slow down warning because I have to break anyway and this way I go to the straight faster than others
