@@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons hi. Not yet probably two more week I haven’t had time to post a video maybe next week. The rollers eggs were all bad and one baby that they had unfortunately died because of very cold weather last week. We had 10-15 degrees night and 30 day time and the baby was getting big and the parents didn’t sit on him😢 but they are on second round and the weather is warming up and they should be fine this time. Thanks and good luck 👍

Yes your hen is the mother of one hatchling today. I will be setting up the cock real soon when I have a spot. The hen I will put with him looks exactly like him, it’s kind of weird. Did you see in the video in my miscellaneous Loft I pointed to two Millies and said that is a nice pair - one of them was your cock. One of the Trenton babies have some nice color coming out on it I can’t wait to see it myself.

@@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons thanks, yes they are actually very good parents. I have a Satinette cock and a tippler hen that paired so I am trying to use them as a foster for one round of homers so we will see how they do. The race birds are off to a decent start here. I have 12 weaned, and just banded 7 more with futurity bands. Also going to have something new and cool looking to share on my channel in a bit. A new flying breed for me here.

Hello. What about sunshine/ d3 for the breeders? Is that in the pelleted food? Thnks.
@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons2 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s tough to get a lot of sunshine for the breeders. I do have an 8‘ x 2‘ skylight in both lofts that I am breeding in. The pellet food does have an abundance of nutrients it is designed for laying chickens so it has plenty of calcium and other vitamins. I always have that available in case they want some but I feed their seed blend twice a day. We do the best we can for them but they are only in there for 2 to 3 months out of the year. Thanks for asking

Looking very nice 👌 It'll be interesting comparing the birds from those 2 Ganus brothers!! Nice to see your champ bird couple have eggs. On a different subject I will keep an eye on your blacks, perhaps I could buy a nice couple or we could exchange if you see any of mine that may interest you.

Hey Joey, I just looked up Andrew South Carolina it is about one hour and a half away from me and my racing club would be another hour and a half on top of that is there a racing club much closer to you. You don’t have to race pigeons in order to enjoy them but if your goal was to Race it would be difficult for you to join our club in Simpsonville South Carolina

Nice video how much you feed breeding pair with babies per day because I like to change food everyday put new food and water. I ask because I throw food in garbage because they don't finish
@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons2 жыл бұрын
I feed them twice a day the amount that they can finish in 15 minutes and then I reload the feed for another 15 minutes. Pull the food away at 30 minutes. In the afternoon I start with the food that they didn’t finish from the morning. I do this because I feel it’s unhealthy for them to pick and choose which food they want to eat also they throw their food everywhere if it’s left in there all day. This leads to an unbalanced nutrition because they pick and choose which seeds they only like. I do keep layer crumbles available all day which is a very nutritious and cheap food that they can easily get to feed their young at midday. I don’t use the pellets because they throw those everywhere. The amount of food that they eat depends on how many young and how big they are but that’s why I like this method because they have all they can eat for half an hour twice a day. Thanks for asking and I think I will do a video on this because most people do like you and keep food available all day which in my opinion is unhealthy.

Pigeons don’t like they’re young ones or their eggs touched by human hands...most of my pegeons when touched they’re eggs a few times they’ll stop sitting on them...and if you thouch young ones to much they stop warming them and feeding
@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons2 жыл бұрын
That’s interesting, maybe different types of Pigeons act differently. I handle most of my babies and eggs daily and I never had a pear stop sitting on their eggs or stop taking care of their babies. But my cages are a lot smaller than most peoples and they really have no place to go back to stay there and take care of them maybe that’s the difference.
