You did a really good job on this. Thank you for sharing your adventure.

It looks great, man! The only "but..." that I see is the lateral stability of wheel support. I used to play rally games and I need the wheel very solid and firm and this one you are suggesting it doesn't seems firm enough... but maybe it is. The rest of your work is simply inspiring, so 2 big thumbs up for you! Thanks for sharing!

what screw and washers did you use??

good job given the budget. it's basically everything you need for a simple rig. I would focus on saving for a bigger screen.

Beta testing refers to software development, not wooden shelves. That said good effort, simple build, does what it is intended to do.

Very nice job there fella, reading some of the comments, i really hope you put a 32" or above just behind your G27, that will give you a very nice perspective of the track and view you will get from an in cockpit view. Thumbs up to you

Yeah I modeled the dimensions based on my 1993 Subaru Impreza driver’s seat.

That's a nice build. I'm still waiting to make a cuttings list for my own, any tips? If I were you, you should have got a bucket seat, they're much lighter and easier to bolt on
@phantommedia99646 жыл бұрын
Design it in a CAD program like solidworks or Autocad, I didn’t do that when I built my simulator. While what u say is true, a bucket seat would be much much more expensive to buy.

wow... so it took you 80 dollars in wood, 20 dollars in bolts and how many man hours ?? .... or purchase one made of metal, for about 70 bucks, .... add seat. a NICE one is about 120 bucks. this isnt financially a good deal. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Why even build this if it's going to look like this? If it was me I would just make a full frame not pieces of wood bolted to the side.
@phantommedia99646 жыл бұрын
The goal was to make it as cheap as possible, I was given a $100 budget and offered some free materials to make use of. If given a chance to build a second version, I have many many improvements in mind. Meanwhile, the current rig does the job just fine and it very sturdy.
