Very nice modification, two L-motors are defenitely not enough for such a big model
@gamemasterksdude2804 жыл бұрын
Thanks for making instructions for this. I’m about to order parts for this modification however, there is one part that I’m still not sure of. Would you mind telling me what the size was of the axles that you used to connect the rear arms to the chassis?

I think they were 8L axles

Hi I have a problem with the cable connection .... can you tell me the cables the position of the cables? Do I have two 8878 2 sbrick batteries and 2 buggy engines? Using the sbrick app I can only turn on the levers and operate the steering instead the engines do not go maybe I have wronged the position of the cables.

Are the wheels and springs from 9398? What is the part for the front wishbone? Can I use PF V2 receiver on 2 buggy motors and V1 for sevro and lights? Can I not use gear reduction is it going to improve the performance?
@RacingBrick3 жыл бұрын
For the parts check out the rebrickable link in the description. PF receivers with the buggy motor will reduce their performance significantly.

Thanks, thought it is some protection. Did you measure the speed difference? What's the gain of buggies over the 2 L's? How much the standard Lego batteries box powers the buggies? (the buggies come with standard battery boxes, not with sbrick or BuWizz) I have all the pieces, except for alternative power solutions here, and I'm curious. Don't you think the front servo is a bit weak? I don't like the original project there, it seems to rely on the servo to provide structural integrity, could that damage it? Don't the wishbones may break? They are so elegant... I love your front part, I would add some more protection there below. How about using a Lego train remote with a regular Lego IR receiver? Do the buggies produce a whining sound when working under the maximum speed? Or is this only true for L's and servo?
@RacingBrick6 жыл бұрын
Huh, lots of questions :) You can see the speed difference in my other video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYWQl3ilg7Joiq8 Buggy motors are much-much faster than the L motors. You can power the buggy motors with a PF battery box but they won't be able to go full power. Buggy motors have their own special old battery box which is the RC central unit as well, they did not use Power Functions battery box. This one - www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=6272c01&idColor=11#T=S&C=11&O={"color":11,"iconly":0} The front servo & steering solution is very elegant I think, it is sturdy enough. I restructured the front for protection at the high speed crashes. The wishbones did not get damaged. Lego train remote is very slow to control a vehicle like that. Buggy motors have a very distinct sound at full power, like: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3XGmqqZa51nf5I
@mihaidobrescu50686 жыл бұрын
Interesting, thanks. Is there a real difference between the original battery box and the power functions one concerning the power it provides with the same batteries? These seem hard to find in good condition. It's nice to add a BuWizz power box, indeed, but I hate the idea of having a smartphone or tablet as remote due to potential responsiveness glitches.
@RacingBrick6 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is a significant difference. The original can power 2 buggy motors with full power, the PF one cannot even power fully one buggy motor.

Is it possible to power the two buggy motors with just one Buwizz? What do you think?
@RacingBrick6 жыл бұрын
It is possible but not for offroading and for situations where you stress the motors, and not in ludicrous mode either. I was able to use that config in my speed recorder car with 4 buggy motors and 2 BuWizz 1.0 units but I had to avoid sudden hard acceleration.

doesnt send out as much voltage if all outputs are connected. example: one output connected: sends full 9v. all outputs conected: sends 8.6 might not be that much of a difference but when one trips the safety overcurrent all trip them as well. soo yeah
