You can adjust the klipper clamps for width of strings. Very adjustable and been using for 20 years.
@StuartLeehiqua4 жыл бұрын
Yes adjusting the klipper clamps pitch for thin to thick strings is no problem. The biggest problem is that the clamps are too narrow causing excessive rotation when releasing the tension head. This causes the string on the inside to be pulled exceptionally tight as the outer string relaxes and loses tension. To prevent the clamps from slipping most of the time you have to tighten the pitch so hard that you damage the string while clamping. Wider clamps will always work better to minimize this.

Great video Stuart. Great analysis. Much appreciated :)) PS. Stringway needs to introduce a 14mm clamp
@StuartLeehiqua5 жыл бұрын
Great you liked it. This was something several people asked me about so thought it should be a video subject.
@StuartLeehiqua3 жыл бұрын
Ideally a 14mm clamp would be good and talked it over with Stringway but right now no plans right now

Hello Stuart Do you have a video on how to overhaul the sprinway clamps?
@StuartLeehiqua2 жыл бұрын
I do not think I do but it is very easy. Just unscrew and take it apart and check the surface if it is clean or not. Remove any accumulated matter on the surface, make sure the screws are clean and lubricated with grease and put back together.

Thanks Stuart. Did you notice any difference in accuracy between slipped mate drop weight vs strongest drop weight?
@StuartLeehiqua3 жыл бұрын
I do not understand "slipped mate drop weight vs strongest drop weight?" please explain. Drop weights are always accurate if used properly. For example If there is a heavy protruding string gripper then that must end pointing straight down when the tension rod is horizontal. Stringway drop weights are always accurate at any angle as long as the weight does not touch the table at rest.

If you use one double and one triple , wouldn't the tension be unbalanced on both sides ?
@StuartLeehiqua3 жыл бұрын
Theoretically yes and that is why it is recommended to get two triples for the mains. The triple rotates less than the double however most or all of the rotation of the double returns to normal after pulling the next string so most or all of the tension loss gets recovered so In practice l would say using one double and one triple is not a big problem.

Thanks Stuart Lee. How about using 4 klippermate clamps with one on inside and one on outside straddling the middle? Is that an option? Can you please share a video after testing this? Thanks
@StuartLeehiqua3 жыл бұрын
@@srinivasanpadmanabhan1811 When I use two clamps on the same string I use them side by side as close to the grommet as possible so I would recommend doing this if you use 4 Klippermate clamps and have nothing else to use. I no longer have my Klippermate machine and the two clamps that came with it so can not test this or make a video. I would not recommend buying two Klippermate clamps to use as an alternative for a good clamp.

Why are stringing a cracked racquet?
@StuartLeehiqua5 жыл бұрын
This was the only unstrung racket I had for recording this video. I did not continue to string the racket after the video ended.
