Another fun fact about the fist of rawr is that you can collect rawr's hand and then take it into dead money as it counts as a quest item. The gauntlet can then be crafted giving you one of the best melee weapons in an area with not too many good weapons.

I was going to say this but you said it well. 👌 Best Sierra Madre run ever was my 100 Charisma-Unarmed character I modeled after Jean Luc Picard. Sweet talked everyone I met or suplexed them. I killed Benny with a stealthboy crit backstab while Unarmed. He was standing next to the railing on the 2nd floor of the Tops Casino so somehow I camo-suplexed him straight over the railing onto the ground floor. (This is unmodded. No idea how I did it forward instead of behind where I started from but I landed on Benny's neck & killed him with 1 crit) It was so glorious I didn't even think to take any pictures with F12 when it happened.

I guess it just seems weird to do since Lonesome Road is the end of the DLC storyline. And considering old Ulysses references the other DLCs it seems doubly weird. Not to mention the only annoying part of Dead Money is the cloud. And only if you're playing on Hardcore. Cause it's not like weapons are in short supply. You get a decent revolver , the holorifle , the bear trap fist , and the knife spears within minutes. If you can't make that work you probably should have invested into at least one combat skill.

The fact the Deathclaw gauntlet has a medical brace to protect the wrist and deal serious damage to the enemy is a good touch. In fallout 76 the Deathclaw gauntlet is increased in power by both melee bonuses and unarmed bonuses. If you build it right, it does insane dps and I tank with the thing. Minor Easter egg about wolverines claws. Originally, the artists and writers wanted the claws to be built into a gauntlet. Stan Lee wanted them to be part of Logan, as otherwise, anyone could pick up the gloves and be wolverine.

Even though I know it's probably a long shot, I'd absolutely love to see a video covering a location like Omaha. It's an area of the world with very little pre-existing lore (minus the fact that a group of brotherhood soldiers lost contact with the main brotherhood down in Lincoln). It would be interesting since Omaha is also home to Offutt Air Force base, home of SAC. The base also used to be an assembly plant for B-17s and B-29s back during WW2 (they produced the series of B-29s used to drop the first atomic bombs, ending the war.) Oh, and don't forget the stories of large rad-storms and mile wide tornados, as well as seeing highly irradiated and mutated bison. We could also include locations like the Omaha zoo, and depending on the size of the map, the Air and Space Museum. Since most of the games usually take place closer to the east or west coast (excluding New Vegas), I think it's a part of post war America that deserves a bit of love from Bethesda.

32:06 Just a note on the "Tiger Claws," those are actually what are known as "shuko," which are Japanese climbing claws. They can be used as weapons to great effect as a secondary function, and were used as such by the shinobi / "ninja" Iga and Koga tribes of Japan. I can personally attest to the relative effectiveness of these tools for their purposes, as a climbing tool first and foremost, and a weapon as a secondary function, being particularly useful on the offhand when using any other weapon. They can be quickly donned and doffed while keeping them at the ready with the secondary arm/wrist loop, making them incredibly fluid in use and in transition to and from other tools / weapons. They feel awkward at first, and require a good amount of practice, but they're actually rather great for climbing non-vertical and some vertical surfaces (modern climbing spikes are faster and safer, but way less portable). As a weapon, they aren't exactly the equivalent of a medium sized box cutter (which itself isn't even a proper weapon :P ), but provide the spikes for puncturing, ripping, and tearing, multiple striking surfaces for smashing, and metal protecting the hand for defense against edged weapons. Again, these aren't really "weapons" nor should they be a first pick of anyone in need of such, but like anything from a screwdriver to an automobile, they can be pressed into service as a weapon in a dire circumstance and provide options beyond unarmed techniques alone.

I'm talking knockdowns on certain attacks or damage increase and such. Almost completed a whole playthrough thanks to that even though I hated the game. Essentially, the only thing that keeps Bethesda from making good unarmed combat is their lack of interest in it, or some lone hero of an animator who will come up with 1st and 3rd person animation sets. As I said - tools for it are already present in FO4 and even a casual modder can make it all work.

Great video as always. About the possible Fallout locations video ideas, I'm quite interested in places like Montana, Utah, Idaho, or Colorado. You have a variety of terrain, from the Rockies to flatter plains to dunes to Yellowstone. There's also the Canadian border in the more northward states. And we have some Fallout lore already like how the Mormons settled in the remains of Ogden City before being attacked and destroyed by the White Legs, or Salt Lake City being a detonation site of a nuclear bomb during the Great War, to the best Khan ending in New Vegas stating they moved up northward and created a thriving empire in this general area. Moreover, that guitar playing guy in New Vegas is from Montana or so he claims, with fans speculating him being the son of the Mysterious Stranger. I've done some research into the Fallout lore of this area, as I have the Fallout 2d20 system and am writing a campaign centered around a few of the things mentioned in this comment, and find these places fascinating for speculating what they'd be like in Fallout's universe.

What would you think of the Fallout game set in East Texas, perhaps with Houston in the west, the Golden Triangle (Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange) in the west, Huntsville to the north and Galveston or even Freeport to the south. Granted this would be a rather large playing area, even if shrunk (although that could incentivize the introduction of vehicles) but it would also give a rather varied supply of locations to explore from the ruin jungles of the Houston and Beaumont-Port Arthur Metro areas (among others) to the vast forests of the Big Thicket and marshes between Winnie and Galveston. There’s also a number of unique locations that they could include like the Battlefield and monument of the Battle of San Jacinto, Spindletop, several coastal forts and the museum ships USS Texas, Stewart and Cavalla. This could probably also open up other parts of Texas (like Austin or San Antonio), Louisiana and maybe even other regions along the Gulf of Mexico (accessed either by shrimp boat, refurbished yacht or even by one of the previously mentioned museum ships that was recommissioned by one of the factions of the game) for DLCs.

As an Alaskan, I'd love to see Anchorage make a comeback and to also include Homer and Fairbanks. I mean, like seriously... We need more Alaska locations!

Just a quick observation. At the segment covering the fists, you forgot to mention the four special unarmed moves that can be learned by the player in Fallout NV: The Khan Trick, The Scribe Counter, The pretorian assault, and the Ranger Takedown.

It's fairly easy to get the deathclaw gauntlet at level 1 in fo4. No combat required. Just dodge through the museum of witchcraft, then grab the gauntlet. You don't even have to return the egg. As a bonus, you will typically have all the material you need to fully upgrade it right away and there are no skills required. Overpowered starter weapon that I grab on most of my characters.

32:08 These are actually a real weapon called bagh nakh, which literally means "tiger claws" in hindi. There are two main variants; smaller ones that can be concealed in one's palm as seen in Tactics, and larger ones worn over the knuckles similar to knuckle dusters. They're made to literally rip through skin and muscle like... well, tiger claws. They can certainly cause fatal injuries, but their main usage is for self defense.

You missed one. In Fallout 4, you have the ability to craft arm pieces for power armor that enable increased unarmed damage.

The "Love Hate" brass knuckles are actually from a Spike Lee movie called "Do the Right Thing". In that movie one of the B characters shows the main character his brass knuckles that say " Love Hate"

I'd love to see someone analyze various regions and locations and their suitability for being in Fallout. I'm a little biased towards the Pacific Northwest as we've got a lot of woodlands and coastal areas, therefore a lot of wildlife that could be mutated. Cougars, spiders, ants, deer and elk, etc., plus metropolitan areas like Portland and Seattle.

The deathclaw gauntlet is probably smaller than a deathclaw's hand due to the taxidermy process. Like voodoo heads.

Tiger claws were likely a climbing gear. They might be somewhat useful as such but as a weapon they are more likely to be a danger to the user.

I really think Displacer gloves would have fit very well among Fallout 4 weapons. I wonder why they decided not to bring that along, while keeping the power fist. The Displacer glove could have been made pretty rare, maybe mostly found in (or on) the hands of the Institute, to suggest that it was pre-war tech maintained by them. Considering the Zeta Gun, one might suspect that the Displacer effect is reverse-engineered from captured alien technology... ----- Some trivia: "Dionaea Muscipula" is the latin name for the Venus Flytrap. They are not toxic, but they are obviously carnivorous. They do not, as far as I know, wear gloves. ----- The Tiger Claws are based on an Indian weapon called Bagh Nakh (literally "tiger claw"), but as someone else mentioned there is also a japanese counterpart which is more of a climbing tool than a weapon. They seem to be more of a "concealed carry" type of weapon, since they can be hidden in the hand, and can inflict horrendous wounds. They do seem kind of awkward to use, though, since they more or less require the user to grapple the opponent with the clawed hand. ----- The "punch gun" also has a real world counterpart, in the shape of a "pistol" attached to a glove, with a kind of plunger for a trigger. This will set the gun off when the user presses their fist against a solid surface... such as the back of the intended victim. They are very much assassination weapons. They use small caliber pistol cartridges rather than 12-gague shells, though.

In New Vegas there are 4 unarmed techniques to learn, ranger Andy in Novac, Jack in red rock canyon, Veronica when you give her a dress from the ultra luxe, and lucius at the fort.
@clothar232 жыл бұрын
Yeah but working with the Khans and the Legion is so passe and wrong. As for Veronica any formal dress will do it. I prefer giving her Vera Keys Dress since I think it's a nice bit of redress for the salt the Elijah poured into her wounds.

the tiger claws look like they're based on ninja climbing claws, also known as Shuko, that were used to help climb trees, but could possibly be used as weapons in dire situations (fitting of fallout) but yeah not very effective as actual weapons, except maybe for grappling .

I had a cool idea for a power armor set for fallout4 years ago, Deathclaw power armor, special pieces made out of the bodies of Deathclaws that would give you the vague appearance of one. While you use it you can't use any weapons but I stead attack like an actual Deathclaws with swiping attacks. And to help atleast a little with distant enemies it gives you the ability to pull up a rock from the ground and throw it a distance. Maybe have a small perk that lowers the chance of agro with Deathclaws with a chance to pacify them while you are in it.
@YurtFerguson2 жыл бұрын
Maybe make it the reason you can't use weapons is because the arms are longer than the armor frame but because of it when you sprint you sprint on all fours which increases your speed and lowers your ap and fusion core usage
