seeing all the radeon using less than 200 watts on afterburner readings games appears your usinmg power saver mode which cuts performance 20% WHY ? forza 5 your only using 140-150 watts on a radeon vii geez @ 5:55 my vega 64 gets higher FPS forza 5

That Horizon Benchmark is very likely due to the low pixel fillrate of the Radeon VII(112GPixel/s) compared to the 6800XT(288GPixel/s). This was one of the key weaknesses of GCN based cards, that prioritized compute over fixed-function graphics hardware.

Crazy how AMD almost doubled performance in two generations. I hope this keeps on happening because of competition between AMD, Nvidia, and the new kid on the block, Intel.

Yea, the Radeon VII was the fastest card until the RX6*** series. OC to OC, the 5700XT was a good deal slower, especially if you were at 1440p or higher.

Loved my Radeon VII, but during peak $$ I had to sell it as it was just going for too much. Scalped a miner so it wasn't a big deal, and it paid for my 6900XT. Nothing like a free upgrade with profit on top.

If im not mistaken radeon 7 might be better in productivity than rx 6800xt because of Hbm2 memory

not only that... The Card is a mining power of her time. It is funny that teh People buy more Polaris and Vega gen 1 than a more powerfull R7( you can trottle the power depending on the card to 200 w)

thx Raja for this fuck up graphic card, and the upcoming so called intel Arc .........dude should be a master chef celebrity instead of a engineer especially in GPU department . He's great at marketing stuff like the hype train of 480/ vega 56/64 and vega vii and now intel ARC

Is not Raja's fault that Lisa Su prioritize their beloved threadrippers cutting 3/4 budget from Vega and re-asigning half the teams to Ryzen processors, why do you think Raja quit? Lisa prefere to invest into PS5 and Xbox new Gpu's/Cpu's, Ryzen, etc. Than assign budget to Vega, which is an inmature processor for gaming, they took the same from Instinct GCN chips MI25, and make few changes to convert it to gaming Gpu. They send RTG and Raja to a war with a fork. They did the same after, what do you think Radeon VII is? is a MI50 datacenter processor that does not meet enough temperature or voltage requeriments to be an Instinct Server card, those imperfect ones are discarded, they cut some CU's, lowered it's frequencies, and send it to you renamed as "The first 7 nm gaming GPU", it's an imperfect server graphics processor. At last they sent Raja to all events and make it sell all the smoke as possible with marketing, while he knows those are all lies. I think even he make a big effort for Radeon, they got a card that compete with 1070 and 1080. Believe me it could be a loooot worse. Polaris 500 and Vega10 and 20 series were the price AMD had to pay for having Ryzen, while Intel was sleeping under a tree.

@@XDSingularity The Radeon VII is a 1080ti level card along with the 5700XT, GTX 2070 Super, GTX 2080, GTX 2080 Super, RTX 3060 and the 6600XT. It's not a bad gpu unlike many claim ofcourse most were disappointed that it took 2 years for AMD to match the 1080ti (give and take a few percentage points).

Should compare Radeon VII with RX 6800 because they have the same amount of stream processors. But whatever the comparison, AMD GPUs will suffer from low GPU usage low framerate issues in many DX11 titles due to AMD's trash drivers. For example, AMD GPUs perform poorly in Crysis 3 (both original and Remastered), Kingdom Come Deliverance, God of War on PC etc.

The CryEngine specific issues have been resolved. What's left now is the overloaded Render-thread, something that will also hit Intels GPUs later this year.

@@Azraleee I can only hope Crytek to do better. At least now AMD GPUs still suffers from low GPU usage problem in Crysis 3 Remastered. And there's almost no improvement in performance for AMD GPUs despite what Crytek has claimed in that game. Sure a Crysis 3 Remastered is insignificant, but now AMD also performs poorly in God of War PC, and that game is not insiginificant at all
