Outstanding work Rick. Much love from Bournemouth in the UK. If you haven't already.....check the carbon brushes. They wear with time and need replacing. Cheap repair and easy to do. If the machine is intermittently starting and stopping, sparking or just struggling to get going or not going at all....it'll be the carbon brushes. In the UK they cost around £10 for the pair. Change them over and the workhorse will be good to go again! Hope this helps and keep up the fantastic work. You're an inspiration to us detailers and weekend warriors out there.

I don't think any car has ever looked as "at home" in my garage as this one. I would LOVE to have one, but the summer season is just so short here. It would break my heart to see it sitting still for 9-10 months of the year. I need something that can handle all seasons.

Hi Rick🖐 You bought that ‘old’ Porsche back to it’s former glory! It’s hard to believe that the paint is in that great condition for having 100,000 K on it, I’m really surprised that there wasn’t a shone chip or love mark on it somewhere. You have a great eye for detail and it really shows! Looking forward to your next project! Cheers!!.

Awesome production as always Rick. Hope you are staying cool during this heat wave and enjoying your summer. Had a question as to your thoughts when/why switching over to the "soft rinse" when spraying off after the hand wash? Thanks!
@RADGarage
@RADGarage 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Greg. We aren't too hot up here, thankfully. Plus, the garage faces north so doesn't see direct sunlight, thank goodness! I do a soft rinse because all I am looking to achieve is to get the soap off the car as quickly and efficiently at that point. I can rinse the car in seconds due to the precision in which I can aim and shoot the garden nozzle versus the pressure washer gun. The dirt is off the car at that point, so no need for high pressure.

Let's start with the Flames. They are going to be just fine. We weren't winning with the lineup we had and now we have a great chance to retool our upper lines. I'm excited for this season. The team at Stoner told me that they will be supplying Carzilla with their line very soon, so look out for that! Those bug wipes are surprisingly awesome. And, yes, I have been using some alternative foams in recent projects. I'm all out of Mega Foam and have found lots of new ones to play with!

@@RADGarage On the Flames, I kinda agree with you. Gaudreau was never really happy in Calgary, at least I didn’t think so, but I was kinda surprised Thachuk left. But always move forward. As for the wipes, I have passed this along to wife as a really good Christmas stocking stuffer 😂 and yes, there are lots of great foams out there. I was an AngelWax fan, but I really have enjoyed using Koch Chemie’s Gsf. Great product. Look forward to the next one.

Amazing as always Rick! I hope your Rupes sorts itself out after a good rest. You can always contact Rupes for a solution. How do you find the NV products? I’ve seen you using their line in the past videos especially the Boost+. I’m looking to broaden my products from outside the UK

I will see what’s up with the polisher but now I’m leaning towards upgrading to the MKIII LHR. I absolutely love the NV line. There isn’t a product in that line that hasn’t impressed me. I know of one viewer who took the NV leap and didn’t quite feel the same about a few products. I think it was Boost he was underwhelmed with it but I have had nothing but awesome experience with it. There’s a discount code in my Linktree.

Hi Rick! Great project. BTW I finally took delivery of my new Cayenne. Next step is full Gtechniq Ceramic coating. BTW it is so much easier to clean than the SQ5 even though it’s larger. Strange.

How is it easier to clean over the SQ5? I find the SQ5 very straightforward to clean.

@@RADGarage there are hardly any gaps and sharp edges. For example, the rear window, you know how dirt gets in the bottom edge and you have to use a brush to clean it. But this car has beading so no gap. BTW the dealer covered the car in silicon spray. Crazy.

Thanks Paul. I have a little kit from Griot’s Garage that has different plastic extensions that do a great job of loosening hardened tar deposits while being gentle on wheel surfaces. I bought it many moons ago.

@@RADGarage Have you noticed another brand with a similar type of tool? What exactly is the working tip made of, & would you say it’s worth the effort? Sorry for all the questions but the last question is probably the most important. Haha!
@RADGarage

There are about six or seven plastic tips of differing shapes and sizes. I find the kit super useful for those odd jobs that pop every so often. I will take a look around the Internet and see if I can find anything similar. Most of the little tools I see are cardboard and cotton tips. Not the same.

It’s a detailing kit by Griot’s Garage I bought probably ten years ago. Little aluminum extension bars with interchangeable plastic ends. Works great and is safe on wheel finishes. Thanks for the question.
