It's not my birthday, but it feels like it is. This is probably the most helpful video I've ever found on KZbin. My 10A "Backup" fuse was blown after installing a new radio. New fuse installed, and everything works!!!

Be sure to use a proper fuse however as you could do damage to the electronics

I changed my battery myself, because I wanted to teach my teens how to do it. The radio, the key fob, etc wouldnt work afterwards. Honda wanted to charge $154+++ to try to figure it out. Found your video, changed 2 'back-up' fuses in my 2016 Honda Fit and FIXED it!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!

You are a lifesaver! I don't know much about fixing anything in a car but I have an amp with subwoofers and yesterday I was driving and listening to music when my radio stopped working. Couldn't lock or unlock doors with the remote, either. I checked the backup fuse and I saw it was blown. Easily changed it with the replacement and now everything works fine 👍🏾 Great video.

After I replaced the starter in my sisters 2008 CRV the factory key fob stop working and the inside door locks only worked if the ignition switch was in the on position. Maybe while I was reconnecting the vehicles battery cables something sparked and caused that 10amp back up fuse to burnout. I installed a new fuse and everything works now. Very helpful video. My sister and I thank you.

WOW, this did the trick. I cannot believe it. Thank you! I have a 2012 Accord, and the locks and radio weren't working just like described. FYI, what I think blew MINE out was that I plugged into my OBD II port, while driving, a power cord for my dash cam. I've used it like this incident free for more than a year, but I guess I've never plugged it in WHILE driving, and that may have done it.

Similar issue here on a 2004 cr-v . I have a short drawing juice and killing battery . I checked each fuse and the back up fuse was the culprit . As with yours , pull that fuse and stop the draw but the radio and dorr locks quit working . It has me going crazy . As soon as i am positive the battery stays up i am going to put it back in a d disconnect the radio and the lock fuse in turn to try and find which is shorting . Like you i thought back up referred to the back up lights .

Back Up in this case means backup light... and that fuse also controls radio (or audio unit in the manual) along with the MICU and the immobilizer control unit. So that might have something to do with the fob problems...

Thanks for the information , i had the same issue with a ep3 type r 2001. This 10amp fuse in the fusebox position 9 under the hood have a pictogram of a manual or book. Does this fuse cut the ground line? Because when i measured the radio it has 12 volt and not working..
