This song came out when I was a freshman in college. I was a dork broken hearted over a girl and this just spoke to me. You can hear the pain in Thom’s voice.

Fun fact: Thom Yorke has a neurological condition where sometimes his jaw locks up. So when you see him singing, you can sometimes catch him yawning or flexing his mouth to avoid it locking up!

This song came out when I was 18 and trying to find my place in the world. I had broken up with my girlfriend of 2 years. Reason being, I felt we were too young to fall in love. I didn’t want her to miss out on life and living miss out on living her best years when you’re young. Sometimes I think I made a big mistake. She was so very special. I have thought of her very often and i hope she’s living her best life.

Hello Olavity, This song always breaks my heart. The singer (Thom Yorke) had drawn inspiration for “Creep” from an encounter he'd had with a girl he'd been stalking who unexpectedly attended one of Radiohead's performance. So, he felt like a creep, ashamed. He didn’t feel on the same level because he was born with a paralyzed left eye. Many stations didn’t give the song much air time due to considering it too depressing.

Radiohead has live video recordings of a few of their albums. They are "From the Basement". They have incredible range. Some of the most beautiful ballads. of love and heartbreak. And some incredibly innovative rock songs. I won't mention any one in particular, because there are so many to choose. I hope you choose many.

Their biggest song is rarely played live now because they (or maybe just Thom) finds it too depressing apparently? I haven't seen them for many years,so I don't know for sure.
@GhostDrummer2 ай бұрын
From what I remember, Creep was getting overplayed on MTV and at events so much that Thom got tired of it being the only song of theirs people were demanding to hear at their shows. It became a thorn in their side when performing the song felt commercialized and fake. It was removed from circulation of songs played live for years until the band decided to put it back in the setlist mix a couple times a year. Even now though, if Thom believes the performance is fake, he will stop mid song and move to the next song on the list.
@ingemarsjoo454224 күн бұрын
According to my knowledge, they didn´t play Creep for many years because Thom thought the text no longer was completely true (he thought it would be false to shout out his teenage sorrow when he didn´t felt that way any longer). But after some years he thought it over and started singing Creep again. "What the heck, it doesn´t matter if I PERSONALLY don´t feel this teenage pain any longer, I know there are thousends of OTHER people out there who feels this way! So let this song be a sort of anthem for all these lonely souls!" What goes for the other band members, I know one of the guitarists (don´t remember wich one of them) hated the song already from the start, for some reason, but still didn´t refused to play it.

Great reaction to an iconic song!👏This song is on my list of all time top ten songs & has never left it for over 20 years. Not only is the music beautiful, but those lyrics, combined with Thom Yorke's voice - MASTERPIECE! Hence the reason it gets covered so much, but no-one can achieve the perfection of Radiohead's original - Thom wrote it & you can FEEL his raw emotion! PLEASE PLEASE react to Street Spirit (fade away): kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnStk5-XitCenMU - it is so memorising a haunting song 💗 Radiohead are an incredibly diverse band - they have created their 'own' unique genre - pure Genius

They are still together last I heard and this was the early 90s when this hit was their debut radio song, they were very "Indie" before then. This was their 1st hit. Through the 90s they gained more popularity and rivaled Wilco, and other indie bands for the last 25 years.

This was early Radiohead. They evolved so much. They have two of the greatest live performances I’ve ever seen. Paranoid Android on Jools Holland is phenomenal. It’s one of their best songs and is on OK Computer which is considered one of the greatest albums of all time. And anything (I would suggest Nude from their In Rainbows album) from their Live From the Basement sessions is ethereal. Best studio albums are probably OK Computer and In Rainbows. The Bends and Kid A are also great. Every album is very different.
