I was just thinking about being 16, in high school, in 1999 and spending about 45 minutes downloading this 4.5 minute song, and treasuring the experience of watching a single video of my favorite band play live. We've come a long way to KZbin in not so long a time.

Good ol days of Napster. I was 13 at the time and it blew my mind how any decent quality of music was being produced for free on my computer.

Hahaha yep snap-it's also when I started to use heroin but I absolve Radiohead of all blame there 😂 it's amazing how far the bet has come though in such a short space of time-when this came out I was impressed you could play snake on a mobile lol

I had an official VHS tape with 7 of their videos. It was as satisfying to watch the whole thing as a good movie.

The audience is so freaken well behaved, no one screaming or shouting or even singing along.. wow. Thom has such control over his audience!

naapooliitaanoo was it specifically made for the film though or was it just used before the album came out do you know? Lyrics certainly imply it was made for the film yet it wasn't on the soundtrack which makes me wonder. I do know it's not about fucking groupies though lol

I have a totally different perspective on this song even tho it may be completely false.. For me, The lyrics of this song are said by a young girl’s imaginary friend who gives her suggestions and ideals to keep fighting and not lose hope after years of physical or mental abuse from her father.. The “We hope that you choke” lines are said by the imaginary friend to the father..

It may be due to Thom's reported detachment during this period, but his flat affect & demeanor seem to add a chilling heft to this performance. It's brilliant.

This guys handle dynamics with true mastery. The way they reduce intensity at 3:50 is the best proof. Specially Thom, whose voice really shines on this one. Fantastic song.

this video and song bring me back. I didnt have many radiohead songs I could listen to on my own. I remember I downloaded them from Kazaa. This song and video was one of them. I thought these guys were so cool.

In live performances.... Jonny Greenwood slides a coin up and down the strings of his guitar, using a Roland Space Echo to create the eerie sounds heard throughout the song. :D:D...thats what he's holding to make the effect =)

It's a great live song. I've heard this song in the last part of the film "After live" . Witlh Liam Neeson. That was also the best part of the movie. It's a great song.

Extraordinario. Thom Yorke sencillamente fenomenal, se bota con esta canción. En esta pieza es particularmente fundamental la guitarra de Ed O Brien para la atmósfera desoladora que transmite la música.
