I'm 36, I had cancer 12 years ago, went through the most painful treatment a human being can handle, until the blessed day came when they told me I was cured. The thing is, when I was all wounded and down, only band I listened to was Radiohead, specially the OK Computer album, for some reason, this music kept me going, I can't explain it, it's magical. So now that this song comes up, for some reason all that energy of trying to survive a lethal sickness, all the hope that I had, all the love and patience I had to practice, all that came back, and jus like I PROMISED I will survive, I'm now listening to this masterpiece. I was meant to live, now I am married and have a daughter, back then, when I was sick, I didn't even know them, but now I'm grateful I Promised myself I will survive, I promised myself this too will pass. Thank you Radiohead for been there every time I needed you, back then when I survived hell, and now when I enjoy even the little things among my loved ones. Thank you Mr. Yorke.

My ex-flatmate introduced me to this band and this music video some years ago. At that time, I have noticed that it was filmed in Warsaw (Poland) the city where we were living. I am still living in the same flat and only now I have noticed that this place 2:21-2:27 is about 150 meters from our house. Unfortunately, this place is currently destroyed due to the new constructions. This place is only left in my memory and this video. Every time I watch this music video, it reminds me of how I walked through this place to catch a bus to my university... P.S. my dear ex-flatmate, thank you for introducing me to some good music:)

No I'm no expert but this is how I think it works in my head. There'll be a stack of tapes and recordings from the OK Computer days. These recordings aren't like a CD or vinyl they are extremely high quality. Radiohead are revisiting these tapes (and with more modern "transferring" techniques) they'll transfer the audio to CD and vinyl to sell.

beautiful words. Depicts the feeling of the video pretty well, the android is trying to capture everyone´s emotions, to be in the present moment with everything around (it?) him. Even if he's a non-organic thing, even then, he is trying to be there, in the life he is actually living, in contrast with many of us which are able to be in the moment but simply choose not to, cause its not as easy as the quote says. This is one of my favorite songs of all time.

+Jaka Prakasa Idk. A Reminder, Meeting in the Aisle, Palo Alto, Polyethylene, and How I Made my Millions are all really good and still ended up as b-sides. But you are right. It didn’t really fit the album. Neither did Lift (though, I think Lift could’ve been a good closing track after the Tourist). It was probably also a matter of the album length. Sometimes bands have a bunch of extras that just don’t make official releases. But, I think the band left them out because Lift and I Promise were pretty blatantly too britpop-y for the band and they didn’t want those songs to overshadow the rest of their main singles, or the album.

Yes, however did you know, being 20 in 1997 was so perfect in every way. The world was just completely beautiful because you could buy OKC at the age of 20 in 1997. I'm 37 and I'm really, really tired of ignorant comments like these that try to idealize a time you know nothing about; there's something tremendously insulting in someone simplifying a period of time into some juvenile and unrealistic impression instead of actually realizing that no period of time is ideal. Also, I've been a Radiohead fan since the mid-90s and I've always been annoyed by pretentious comments like those littering this video's response section.

For a whole minute I glimpsed peace and tranquility. Even though I couldn't understand what the kids were saying splashing around in the pool. I connected with them, I felt my childhood again.
