time signatures yo. the verses are in 4/4 while the chorus is in 3/4, and arpeggio is just 3/4, so the triplet flows fit perfectly and the chorus fits perfectly. everything else is a jumbled mess of mis-matched down beats n up beats.

I’m struck by this idea of like… Pink standing for the point of view of women being viewed as commodities for their beauty and bodies and coming to terms with the fact that the men in her life don’t see her as a person… and then Ice Spice reinforcing that idea with her verses about manipulating a man using her body but hating that neither she nor he are being honest about their feelings or even being faithful. This adds so much complexity to verses that I’m certain weren’t meant to be this deep in the first place but either way the somber instrumentation we get to understand this aspect better…
