The Kid A official music sheets say “allowed” but there have been errors reported in official RH music sheets before. It is also possible that Thom switches between one word and the other. In any case, both make sense with the above interpretation.

I always praised Radiohead because they did something not many artists would dare: Slip in a depression as a whole band due to the immense success and when people expected a sequel on OK Computer they did the unthinkable and be obsessed by ambient music and try a new sound. Yeah. Many artists eventually dare to make a more experimental album or project but not at the start of their biggest successes.

I once read a comment from someone who said that Radiohead (more specifically Thom Yorke) would never again achieve the same energetic vibe as "The Bends Era". This performance proves how wrong she was.
