I can’t think of anyone who can evoke powerfully visceral emotions the way Thom can. Particularly OKC era - his delivery is often devastating and achingly beautiful at the same time.

Thom Yorke's haunting voice with the acoustics is hand-in-glove.

This is an absolutely gorgeous, amazing track! Thom Yorke's voice is perfect. One of the few singers I know of whose voice sounds just as good live as on the studio version, if not actually better. You can FEEL the emotion when he sings. It is SO beautiful, it makes we want to cry. And Thom, you ARE my superhero. Truly.

"It's going to be a glorious day. I feel my luck could change" sung like he wants to believe it but can't. The next thing we learn is about an air crash. So. Yeah. Not too glorious. Even if you get an audience with the king. Gets me every time. We are indeed "Standing on the edge".

Yes! I've been looking for this version since I first heard on myspace in 2003! Thom's voice is so powerful here. I've never heard him use so much vibrato, which I love! Thanks to whoever put this up.

It's a plane crash. He's lone or one of few survivors. He's feeling strong emotions of the narrow escape, adrenaline, and idk if it's gratitude... somehow his positivity feels inappropriate here (mixed with gambeling terminology).... It's his lucky day. He lived. The head of state has called for me by name But I don't have time for him It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck could change Pull me out of the aircrash Pull me out of the lake 'Cause I'm your superhero We are standing on the edge
