A dirty bomb is conventional explosive paired with radioactive material that is dispersed through the blast. It is a normal explosion but afterwards the surrounding is contaminated with dangerous material. A nuke is a fission reaction that leads to a gigantic explosion destroying entire cities. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were nukes.
