Deewaar 2.0 with Shahrukh & Ranveer! | Rajiv Rai | Amitabh Bachchan | Salim Javed | Vicky Kaushal

Radio Nasha celebrates 50 glorious years of the iconic film Deewaar with director Rajiv Rai (Son of Producer Gulshan Rai) along with RJ Divya Solgama. Rajiv spoke about how Deewaar idea was pitched by Salim Javed to his father in reference with Mother India and Ganga Jamuna.
He also spoke about the casting of Deewaar and how Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor and Nirupa Roy were selected. Rajiv spoke about the how actors like Rajesh Khanna, Waheeda Rehman, Vaijantimala were considered for this film. He spoke about Amitabh Bachchan's iconic costume and the issues related to the climax scene of the film.
Many more aspects were explored right from Parveen Babi's character to 100 weeks run in cinema hall along with its music by R.D Burman. He spoke about how Deewaar inspired many south Indian movies, including film of Rajnikant. Rajiv also shared about the English version of Deewaar and the possibility of making Deewaar in today's times with actors such as Shahukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Amitabh Bachchan had signed Deewar in 1974 after the super success of Zanjeer, Abhimaan & Namak Haraam which released in 1973. By the time Deewaar released in January 1975 Bachchan had become a big star as he consistently delivered successful films like Majboor, Benaam & Roti Kapada Aur Makaan which was a huge blockbuster & that released in 1974. But after the super success of Deewaar Amitabh Bachchan became a superstar. His fan-following, popularity & superstardom after Deewaar was of an altogether next level. Divya solgama research is near to accurate and it makes the guest a touch of reality from what happening on the other side...Gulsham Rai, what a composed mindset and clear thought flow. Those days are gone now, rather unfortunately!! Sanjay Dutt was supposed to be launched in Rajiv Rai’s directorial debut, Yudh but was replaced by Jackie Shroff. He couldn’t make it to Tridev either but was probably considered initially. Those days are long gone. We must relish every opportunity from a top notch filmmaker who gave us those huge blockbusters in the 80s & 90s & support his return. Zora will promise the same formula of masala entertainment which was seen back in the day & which we 80s kids loved & lived through those wonderful years of Hindi cinema. Those days are not coming back with the crap made today in the name of movies & the filth of web series
