The "subchannels" are probably CTCSS tones (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) or DCS (Digital-Coded Squelch) but the way they're numbered for this product doesn't really match up with the number of CTCSS or DCS tones commonly used. Might make interoperability with other regular FRS walkie-talkies difficult unless you disable subchannels. Dunno if you care about interoperability but I figured I'd mention it.

I have got a whole bunch of walker razors with the gmrs radio add ons they use AAA batteries they need 4 per setup

So these are like normal walkie talkies and I could talk to people with the Walker ear muff radios as long as we're on the same frequency?
