Day 4 of my 5-part "Radiotherapy Week", where I share the experience of getting radiotherapy to reduce the size of the largest tumour in my lungs and get rid of the symptoms (breathlessness + coughing) I've been experiencing for the last month or so.

I wasn't sure what that was until I was diagnosed with STAGE 4 Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma (a SUPER rare type of cancer for which there is NO CURE).
I decided to embrace my motto of Living Out Loud and started sharing my journey in vlog format.

@@entronetcalitz6567 To me this (Spanish) still sounds weird, but that's just because I was raised speaking English and French. I guess it's the same for everyone. But it's true that some languages are more similar than others. Luckily for me, knowing English and French gave me a very good base for learning Spanish as a lot of words are similar.

The " Bad" news may not be bad news. What if both doctors are partially right? Doctors often have differences in opinion. The primary concern is to shrink the tumour to prevent a collapsed lung but perhaps it will also reduce the symptoms? A relative of mine with inoperable lung cancer did immunotherapy to shrink it. This led to a reduction in symptoms though the primary reason was to shrink it enough to operate. She recently had surgery. So the reduction in symptoms was a bonus, even before surgery. Hope you experience the same.❤

You're absolutely right. There is no way or knowing what will or won't happen, and it's possible both doctors are partially right. I definitely hope that's the case, because I find it difficult to connect with the universe and live in that state of gratitude when I have trouble breathing and I'm coughing. I'm glad to hear things went well for your relative. How did the surgery go?

Absolutely beautiful backdrop. I see you wear the medal your wife gave you though you arent religious. Am guessing she is Catholic and wants you to wear it for protection. There are atheists who are offended when others say they will pray for them. One youtuber made it a point to repeatedly say that. He has since passed. I am glad you appreciate prayers , kind thoughts and hopes. Will keep sending them your way.

I wear it because it's important to her and she is important to me. It doesn't matter what I believe. It's the same for prayers. Though I believe something different, it comes from a place of love and caring and for that I am grateful. The only exception is when people try to convince me that they are right and I am wrong. I respect people and their beliefs, and I expect the same from them. And most people are incredibly respectful and kind.

Hey, you sound like a fluent Spanish speaker😂. Want to try German next? Guten Tag, wie geht es ehnen? If you dont mind trying a natural remedy instead of cough syrup for your cough let me share a recipe. Make a tea out of ground or smashed fresh ginger( ginger powder If you cant get fresh), lemon juice and a bit of rind, as well as turmeric( fresh or high quality powder from Health food store ). If you can get fresh ginger and turmeric from an Asian market that would be best. Crush the ginger and turmeric with the back of a knife or mortar and pestle, boil it for 20 mins in water. Add lemon juice and If you can tolerate it a dash of Black pepper. Add honey to taste.Ginger and turmeric are anti inflammatory and known to be effective against cancer too. Dr Nhi Tran Lee talks about ginger shots in some of her videos. We take this when we have Covid or flu and it is very effective. Btw glad you are feeling better. More prayers going your way❤

Hahaha. Thanks, but my pronunciation was definitely off when it comes to "radioterapia" (I've said it hundreds of times at this point, but I can't seem to get the inflection quite right ,🤣). I'll start by mastering Spanish (I like to say I'm two-and-a-half-lingual 🤣),then I'll consider German. Thanks for the recipe. They are definitely ingredients I can get (though I already have most of them on hand). Much appreciated 🙏.
