R-108 has two EQ settings: VOICE and MUSIC. If you find it sounds too muffled on VOICE, switch it to MUSIC (long press 4) - it'll sound crisper/brighter.

I, too, discovered the Radiwow battery discharges after a couple weeks' disuse. I still like mine, and I can't thank you enough for recommending it to me. Do you have any URLs for a second battery?

My Sangean 909x does it all. Big sloper antenna pulls in everything.

Which radio receiver better receives fm frequencies with a standard telescopic antenna at a considerable distance (tens of kilometers) from the transmitter? R-108 or pl-310et?

Do you know how to remedy this problem? My usb power supply when plugged into my radio for power completely stops my radio from picking up stations on MW. If I unplug the usb power cord from the radio, and just use the internal battery for power, I pick up stations without interference. Is there a fix for that and what specifically would that be?

Love the Radiwow. Awesome sound for a small package. The airband picks up just as good as top end expensive radios. Recommend

I agree I think the air band is great I have local towers saved and the main communication frequencies and save any frequency I pick up on a scan, the built in antenna does decent job and the speaker sounds amazing on strong signals. Overall for the money it’s worth it just for the air band plus it’s fantastic on shortwave. These can be bought new for just over £30 there is nothing better out there for the price.

That is a BL-5C lithium ion battery. I have a few radios that take it. They seem to hold a charge for quite a while on radios that turn completely off, such as the XHData D-328 or when being stored. In the case of the Radiwow, it must not completely turn off then?

The microcontroller that controls the radio has to keep the LCD updated. This takes some power (it's running a program, basically). It's not as efficient as a digital watch that can run on a small battery for a year or two. If the radio draws 1mA it'll drain a battery like this in 1000 hours about 40 days.

My r108 makes a loud pop sound when switching bands on headphones. Not when listening with the speaker. That’s the only problem I’ve encountered so far.
