Northern VA 2time rx8 owner here. The HKS exhaust fitment was near identical to my RB catback. Had to the carefully trim the bumper exhaust shrouds & tweak the exhaust hangers to stop it from melting down onto the stainless. I Would absolutely love to visit and learn some hands on rebuild tips from the rad pro when that time comes along. Love the content man, guess I’ll be taking the rx8 to work today🤘

In CoVa and just dropped $400 in tooling and about to get the deep dive into RX8. Had a friend who had one growing up and super solid platform regardless of power plant. But I want to stay classic dorito. Good luck man.

Exhaust hanger removal trick: some silicone spray and they will slide right off

I have the single tip HKS hi power, I love it and I’m actually surprised how quiet it can be just cracking the throttle at low rpm. I also have Bennett built ignition coils with versatune. Love your cars dude, and thanks for all the knowledge!

Love the little pops on the gear shifts. My old one did that and shot little flames out of both tips.

I bought my Rx8 with a same type catback system and right tip also appears to be shorter, but when I looked under it, it is straight, doesn't seems to be damaged at all. Maybe some of them come like that from the manufacturer.

My mate bought brand new invidia exhaust for his 350Z for and one tip is also longer that the other. Not by much but you can't unsee it once you notice they are unequal. We double checked but whole thing was mounted straight from the get go.

@@enf404 mine is manufactured Megan Racing, it seems that it's a common problem by Rx8 catback systems.

Really good tool for removing exhaust hangers use channel locks. One end on the metal and one on the back of the rubber and once it's popped through if you need to push it through a little more you can use a bolt to help push the metal through the rest the way

Highly recommend the RB condenser screen and oil cooler screens, especially in the track car 😎

@radpotential my son has an 05 RX-8 and I've been trying to assure him it's fine. He's getting coolant temps of 213F and sometimes 220F (in 95F heat of NC). He doesn't even run the AC. I've never seen you cover cooling concerns. Should he be worried?

As long as it comes back down as the fans kick in and doesn't pass 220 by more than a few degrees, that sounds normal.
