Very nice. We've got an old 71 Plymouth roadrunner thats been sitting in a barn on our property since the 80s. Inheritance from grandfather. I'll eventually get around to doing the same thing. We honestly have no idea why it would put away, though.

Derek! Please take these words of wisdom to heart from a 40 + year mechanic. PLEASE don't hammer on old battery posts. They out-gas and the acid fumes are extremely combustible. When I was about 19 I had a '70 Nova SS 427 4 Speed and one morning I was late for work. (I was framing houses at the time ) I turned the key to start the engine and all I got was Click, Click, Click, so I reached in the trunk of the Nova and grabbed my 22 oz framing hammer to tap on the battery terminals to tighten them up. First whack and the old battery exploded in my face. I slowly tried to find my way to the sink in my moms laundry room with my eyes closed and proceed to fill the sink and stick my head in the water to flush my eyes out. I had pieces of plastic shrapnel from the exploded battery stuck in my face, forehead, neck, chest etc. I'm fortunate to still have both eyes. Needless to say I've never used a metal object to try and tighten the battery posts on an older (or new battery). I do hope some readers learn something from my incident with battery fumes and a steel hammer. Cheers

Yes, do some laid back videos as followups on some of the more worthy specimens on rusty acres or hubcap hills and engage Jessica and the three jr. Sasquatches and take it easy for a while to save on your knee! I severely damaged my left knee and ACL about 10 years ago and it happened at some turbulent times so I didn't acknowledge it and kept working and pushing it and had a bad, bad limp for almost 6 months and now I have to be really careful not to kneel and get the knee cold and wet. It also lead to me overloading the other good knee to make it also bad and prone to act up...

Derek, I turned 50 last wednesday. Things are breaking down man. We're old. Take care. When you mentioned the connection between this thing and a valiant of a similar vintage, I remembered when my father told me that he drove a 63 or 64 valiant in the early 70s. It was a very good car in his opinion. You see, he's gone now, and this video brought that back. I owe you one dude.

My late grandpa had this same body style of Barracuda, but white with the blue interior, and he had swapped the motor out for a v type, can't remember if it was a 6 or 8 cylinder. It got parked up somewhere in the mid-late 2000s, and it breaks my heart to know it's still sitting there uncared for. I'm only about an hour in but this has been nice to watch, even if it's a different car, it feels like the same spirit is living on. Thank you Derek!

4 of my first 5 cars were slant 6 Mopars. That ignition sound is unique and recognizable to anyone who formerly owned one. That motor was basically indestructible. There were two items that always arose to shut them down. The ballast resistor on the firewall, and the nylon gear in the distributor. Otherwise they would run no matter how much they were abused. My brother had a Barracuda of that year and the rear window was super expensive to replace for the times. Thanks for the memories!

This one hit close to home for me. My Dad bought a 65 Formula S Cuda new. He drove that car for 30+ years. When I was born in December 66, I came home from the hospital in that car. I went on to drive that same car myself until I had to sell it. I've regretted that ever since. This video almost produced tears. This car is even the exact same color as mine. Despite the fact that this old girl fought you so hard, I'd still love to have it. You'll get that car running right. One day, with any luck, I'll have another one, and this time, it will stay with me in memory of my Dad. Thank you for the awesome video. I truly enjoyed it.

Now I was elated you did not have to drive alll the way back to Tennessee because of.. well..health. And even happier the original son got to hope in and drive one last time after 22 yr!! and W❤W after that warsh down the red leather interior looked to die for. You’ Rock! Wow, a guy hasn't watched this painful of a revival in a while. I was definitely cringing for you on this one Derek. Content like this honestly has to encourage so many car enthusiasts out there while they deal with their own setbacks and struggles. We struggle with our own projects where all we have is one car to deal with, then we watch you and you've got 3297 more projects to do in the next 2 weeks and you move along like "we'll just pretend that's okay." I can't say enough how awesome your content is. I have learned so much, and a lot of that learning has been just in the approach of things. As a nearly 38 year resident of Pensacola I know exactly what you were feeling in the terms of heat, humidity and smell! After the first 5 years you grow your gills and that helps but you didn't have that type of time. Same humidity also means that any car that sits for too long (3 weeks or more) starts to become a petri dish / terrarium after a few rains unless it's in an enclosed garage. Then it takes 6 weeks! Congratulations on getting it moving again and look forward to seeing the solution to it's issues later.
