Just bought a light micro series Shakespeare and was worried about bass fishing with the skinny rod. Thanks for making me feel better about it! And good tips about the ammonia!

Great spiritual advice too. I feel the same way about fishing... for the most part its because I just love it, but its also my hillbilly yoga.

I just ordered a new one myself and this brand of rods are my go to favorite rod. I broke my 7ft light so I just ordered myself the 7’6 rod ultra light. Wanted a bit longer rod for smaller to medium small bass, perch, crappie, rock bass, smallies. Used the 7 foot light foot for a year or two and caught my pb bass of 5.5lbs and a 2000 size reel spooled with 6 lb line. This rod many people hate due to the whippiness of it and how it breaks easily but I think it’s due to the lack of knowledge of using the rod improperly. When rigged with right equipment the rod reel and line should all match to the types of fishing you are doin.

Hey JC good video on the light tackle bass fishing. Still windy and cold over here in Debary. Did not get the boat out yet. Supposed to warm up this week end. Try and get out in the next week.

Ultralight is the way to go! Ive been getting into and its amazing fun! you catch everything with it. It makes small fish feel big and big fish feel........well........MASSIVE! I use 2 pound test though it makes it much more fun!

Thanks for commenting. Yeah, small line like that definitely requires a net.

Great video JC, but maybe you should have explained why you should not mix those two chemicals together. How dangerous they are when mixed, the toxic fumes they make when mixed up. VERY DEADLY COMBO! But using the two separately is ok, as long as there is plenty of ventilation. Great video JC.

Thanks for sharing Curtis. I really appreciate suggestions from viewers. When I was editing the video, I considered the possibility of people clicking off the video to go and see what would happen if the two are mixed together.

Nice fishing! I love using inline spinners, and jig spinners.

Thanks for commenting. The bass in that lake feed on small baitfish. I've tried rapala minnows, full size spinnerbaits, frogs and they won't hit them, put on a little inline spinner and BAM!

I got myself the Shimano fx200 combo with trigger cast same as in your video. I got it from a friend that retired and was moving out of town. Wonder what year did the fx 200 came out. Thanks for the video going to use this reel set up some more.

Real nice life message, but let me ask you this. My situation is that I developed severe arthritis to the point it cost me my pro musician work and can’t perform anymore. I fish in my back yard and just casting over and over causes me severe pain and no matter how much I ‘push through’, it doesn’t change a darn thing about how much pain even fishing is and how that affects my mentality. Put that in your creel and let it simmer. This began in my 30s and fought it for over 20 years until I just couldn’t get the pain meds I was using from my doctor because the government stepped in and came up with a BS study claiming that people are overdosing on these opioid medications. People in pain don’t OD on pain meds, it’s those who get them illegally, but people like me are left to suffer and lose everything that makes life worth living. So you keep pushing and I hope you never have your life taken from you by God and the American Pharmaceutical and Medical industries.

Thanks for sharing your experience. You've impacted my life in a great way this morning by causing me to focus on the things I'm grateful for in life. I cannot even imagine what that would be like. My entire life right now is consumed with fishing and playing the guitar. I can only hope that if I find my self in any type of similar situation that I'd have the strength to focus on the things I'm grateful for in life. I had an 87 year old friend who used to say that she was grateful for her eye sight and that she could get out of bed in the mornings. That's really taking things down to the basics. Thanks for watching the videos!
