It's amazing that Emma manages to reach such a high level in her last two matches after 8 months of difficult recovery and only 5 weeks of tennis training. In my opinion, she is definitely playing better than she did during the US Open 2021. It would be great if she could progress beyond round 2 and remain injury-free.

Emma has been through a terrible time at such a young age and will be stronger for it as long as she stays true to her game, and believe in herself. She has been missed on the tennis court, can't wait to see her get back to the form of 21, well done today, good performance considering everything hope she can build on this stay pain free. I hope her chief coach and fitness coach have been working on her strength development and stamina while she has been away from competitive tennis. She needs to prove she can finish tournaments without withdrawing because of physical issues and that she can win gruelling three setters.
