I grew up listening to RZA, Wu Tang is my favourite group in any genre of music, I know Wu and RZA like the back of my hand and he sounded absolutely NOTHING like RZA, not even close. It can almost hear what he's TRYING to do, but failing miserably at it and it's not entirely his fault, somebody should have told him to tone it down. I honestly don't know who I would have cast to be honest, I'm no casting director but the casting was on point for 95% of the show, especially ODB, Divine, Rae and Power but I don't know what RZA was thinking when he picked Ashton. Good actor, bad casting choice.@@mr.smellgood2794

Then there is the fact that there is already a Hulu series, so it's probably more likely that, if they want to make another hip hop biopic, they'll go with someone else. Someone who doesn't already have a series or a film.

@@KD_SWAGGER that'll be a long time. Plenty of other biopics will be prioritized. I think RZA made a stupid decision here. A Wu film with Leonardo DiCaprio attached to it, would've gotten them more money and fame. Yes, fame is important too. Sure, they're famous... But a Wu film with Leonardo DiCaprio could've put the spotlight back on them. They've not been in the spotlight for like two decades. Instead, they turned Leonardo DiCaprio down and went with a Hulu series that no one watches. Heck, even if i wanted to watch it, it's not available internationally. I'm in Europe. That series got them zero recognition. A Leonardo DiCaprio film might've made them one of the biggest names of the year. He was looking at big names to direct it. The film would've gotten proper attention. Remember the NWA film? If NWA had decided a Hulu series was the way to go, no one would've noticed.

In all respects to Rae, it's really the reason why the RZA is the RZA. He was the one with the plan and made every single member an icon off the strength of his vision. And everything Rae is talking about would have been way more expensive than the production of the cost to make a series. So seeing the bigger picture than just the awe of it. Lower production cost could net higher profit margin than producing a movie with a much higher budget.

A series is better then a movie, you can’t fit your whole story in a 2 hours. That’s what they should’ve done with the Pac movie. They tried to put his whole life in 2 hour movie and it came out sloppy and horrible.

2:53 whenever Rae comes out of his shell its always classic and funny as hell lmao. I remember me and a friend of mine were talking about Wu and who our favorites were. I told her Ghost and Rae were my faves. She her fave hers was ODB because that’s who she would want the chance to hang out with. But between Ghost and Raw she would probably want to hang out with Ghostface more because Rae comes off too serious. I showed her the Old MTV cribs episode where Rae was watching cartoons getting hype and the clip of him at comicon and she said that’s the first time she saw him smile or laugh lol.

Much respect to Raekwon for standing up to RZA. For a long time nobody questioned RZA or challenged his authority. At some point RZA should let Raekwon take the lead on some projects without any ulterior motive.

The actor playing Rza, Ashton Sanders is a great your actor from my hometown, Carson, CA. I didn't start watching Wu Tang series on Hulu until recently, after seeing this interview about his mimic of Rza's voice. Season 1, I thought he just sounded like a dude from NYC. Then, halfway through Episode 1 of Season 2, yeah, he started this like monotone voice, trying a bit too hard to sound like Rza. It's like someone told him after Season 1 to change it up because he didn't sound like that in Season 1
