Nadal is that player who always had the correct mentality, anticipation, cleverness and court craft from day 1. He certainly lacked few technical shots on specific surfaces which he improved later in his career. That is why even in his early matches, you see him play at such a high level and that he makes a great player like Srichaphan struggle to close out the points

Asian tennis greats like Srichaphan are precious and few. But they do make a mark and humble formidable Westerners like Nadal at their peak. In 2003, I was in my early forties and playing great tennis. It was really nice knowing and seeing an Asian giving Wimbledon seeded players a run for their money.
