I agree, but that also helped him end points quicker and use serve and volley more often than before, prolonging his legendary career. Despite the fact that Nadal is now retiring from tennis, he is 38 years old and had the longest span in tennis history (2005-2022) of 17 years from winning his first to his last slam, despite his injuries. And 14 RG titles (a record that probably will never be broken), 22 Grand Slam titles in total, double career grand slam and 209 weeks at No 1. Nadal also had a 10 year record span of winning at least one major title (2005-2014). Initially, Nadal was planning retirement during the 2016 Rio Olympics, but with the help of Carlos Moya to shorten the points, his career was prolonged by at least 8 years. Incredible!

I think nadal issue this year was that he would run around the to the forehand way to much against Nole which is most cases against regular players will be enough but for Nole he can use all that extra court to take the offensive, in 2020, Rafa would just slap the backhand deep which Djokovic cant do anything with.
