Why? He is a normal sized man with a genetic condition who pushed his limits to become more reptilian. Only in later comics Arkham scientists experimented on him making him bigger.

0:59 The hand raise, him slowly emerging from the water, the growl before attacking Enchantress from behind, and the snarling and yells when he did it. This has to be one of the most badass scenes of Croc because it just shows how dangerous he is and how easy it can be for him to get the drop on you. He feels like a live action version of TAS Croc and I love it! (Shame he didn’t throw a rock in this movie though)

This also allows him to manhandle his victims with ease, lift objects heavier than himself and move and swim underwater for longer periods and show no sign of fatigue. Killer Croc possesses an unmatched healing factor, his reptilian like physiology allows him to regenerate at uncanny speeds. He can heal from wounds that would kill an ordinary human and even regenerate lost limbs. However the more he regenerates the more devolved he becomes His scales and hide provide him with superhuman durability able to withstand anything from sharp objects such as swords and knives to bullets and heavy artillery He has enhanced senses that enables him to hear, see and smell far greater than humans, his lungs also have a greater air capacity allowing him to breathe underwater for longer periods of time. His claws and teeth are razor sharp which can tear through flesh and even metal like paper. Weaknesses: Limited intelligence, prone to fits of rage and aggression towards his teammates. Once he is hungry he will do anything to satisfy his taste.
