All wars are catastrophic, but some wars are more catastrophic than others, particularly when there are no shelters for civilians in Gaza. The ICJ required Hamas to release the hostages unconditionally and Israel to observe humanitarian corridors and aids and avoid war crimes. Apparently, Hamas may not be rooted out completely, but this war will put Hamas out of capacity to carry out similar October 7, 2023, against Israel. Let it be known that Israel is a completely independent country and can go it alone with or without the USA.

How can Hamas hide within the assumed population density in Rafah if they civilians would arrest Hamas and deliver them to legal courts the issue would be resolved and the Palestinians would have something good for once and something to be proud of instead of just being remembered for a century of senseless and depraved terrorism if the civilians insist on playing the role of human shield for Hamas they are forcing the IDFs hand to restore law and order and are responsible for the consequences themselves.

Well they will probably never do that without any guarantees of return. Egypt already have enough on their plate as is and don't want 100's of thousands refugees in the Sinai. Especially not refugees suffering from decades of trauma and little to lose if they chose to join up with any of the groups operating in and around the Sinai. All it would result in is chaos, even if only 1 out of a 1000 chose to join these groups you have a potential of thousands of new militants in the area who will have access to multiple targets especially a wide border with IL and the Suez Canal. An attack on either of these targets and Egypt will have a real headache dealing with IL and when it comes to the Suez, most of Europe and the US.
