The purpose of the video is not to present music, but the pianist's opinions of the music, which is fine. Your objection makes no sense because no where in my reply did I ever say that I don't need to hear the music. In fact, I said the exact opposite by lamenting the fact that pianists nowadays need to be flashy and "fashionable" instead of presenting the music in the best way possible. I quote myself: "The piece in itself is not good enough for you anymore?". You contradict yourself

Be careful there, my friend!!! There's a bit too much of "le texte" here, and not any playing, or did that escape your notice? Have your aspirations to high-brow musical snobbery blinded you to the fact that you need to actually hear the music?? And what's wrong with a little pizzazz in a performance? If Yuja Wang and other DG pianists can embrace the persona of a 21st century piano star, why can't Rafal?
