Well you see He's rolling around at the speed of sound. He's got places to go & he's following his rainbow. He can't stick around He must keep moving on. The actual answer is because it's fun and momentum is cool. There doesn't need to be any other reason It's a video game that has a need to be fun. Also Frontier has the drop dash.

@@Itzjora23 Just a little bit, I see it as just a little extra thing they added for fun and isn’t too deep of a thing. Could be somewhat useful as a way to gain speed in some situations when you’re out of Boost and at a standstill. The weird part for me is it only be activateable after the Jump Dash.

It doesn't make sense for a boost game but an adventure styled one, yes. It's an interesting addition to his move-set, it's bigger than "modern vs classic". It seems like you're more upset with a classic game mechanic being added to his move set rather than it's function. You're not making a clear point but talking in circles asking "why did they do it", you did state why it's in a boost game which is fair, but then you start talking in circles again.

Me again not going to rant but it's mainly going to be for like to string together movement, just keep this in mind the boost gauge is limited, but also if air boost and land you can drop dash to more better carry more speed, but it also kinda depends on the map overall, and if you can turn it off cool, but I think it's neat might have new things you could on sonics side.

@@jay.isbored If you barely used it, methinks you opinion is not valid hehe But seriously, the flowstate that you can get in Mania compared to the older games is REALLY substantial as someone who's done some speedruns every once in a while. It's so good to use, that I wish you could still use it while having an elemental sheild, and going from Sonic to other characters like Tails and Knuckles would feel more clunky in comparison.
