As much as I love Thomas Jane as the Punisher I felt Ray Stevenson really brought that vengeful factor to Frank Castle.
@Draliseth Жыл бұрын
Thomas Jane was very vengeful, it's just that he's very subdued and it's mostly in his actions rather than his performance. After all, the guy is coping with the recent loss of his ENTIRE family.

Thomas knew how to express a mournfull empty Frank Castle. But Ray showed us a Cold blooded ruthless Frank Castle. Both are good, just that the circumstances were different.

I liked the Thomas Jane movie, but it wasn't Punisher. The Punisher doesn't manipulate a bad guy into killing his wife and best friend. PWZ was truer to the Punisher, but it was ridiculous and tonally uneven (especially with the weird comedic turn of Jigsaw and LBJ). I didn't love it, but I loved Stephenson. To date, I don't think anyone has done the Punisher real justice (no pun intended), but PWZ was the closest we got.

Fun fact: this was directed by a female director, Lexi Alexander. She was a former professional stuntwoman & competitive Karate champion, before becoming a director/producer. And get this, the studio wanted to tone down the violence, but she fought tooth & nail to have all the ultra-violence & gore in it.According to an Interview, her concept for the movie was to make it a live-action MAX Punisher film. This is the best Punisher movie for me and Ray Stevenson's portrayal of Frank Castle is superb. Everything looks real and natural the way he portrays the Punisher. You can even see in his eyes the way he focus on how to kill his enemies, that he is thinking whats gonna his next move after his current kill like playing billiards, after taking the shot, how and where he needs to place himself to be on the advantage for his next kill and so on until he finishes everyone. You can see and feel from his face to his body language and even the way he holds his weapon and the way he squeezes the trigger the anger and rage inside him against criminals but in a quiet manner but not with the satisfaction and joy just for the sake that he killed someone. You can tell that he is doing it for a reason. That there is a story deep inside him why is he doing it. That no matter how many he kills it wont be enough as a retribution for what happened to his family which leads him to become who he is. And you can feel that every shot he fires, every muzzle flash emitted whenever he pulls the trigger he gets flashbacks of his family, flashbacks of the day they were mercilessly murdered. He wa able to perform all those formula in being the Punisher in a natural and most of the time in a silent way.

A worthy review for an amazing film. The Punisher must be one of the easiest characters to write for but they seem to be afraid or unwilling to do it correctly, with the exception of this movie.

I don't know which was better, seeing the best of Punisher War Zone or listening to Razorfist's commentary. Both are awesome. Do it more!

Never thought I'd see a compelling case for Grimdark Batman and Robin.

Regarding the 44 Automag, a new owner did a new run of them recently after a bunch of design changes and those ones apparently actually work properly.

I pissed myself laughing at the parkour thugs scene! This movie is like the best kind of junk food; the kind you're still burping up the next day and remembering how good it tasted.

I recently had a movie night with my old man. I grew up watching superhero movies and tv shows with him, even when we didn't have anything else in common. I rarely see him laugh so hard that he sounds like an old lady, but the rocket/parkour guy shit had him laughing and replaying it for 15 minutes. Great time

As a gun nerd I appreciate the detail of what model of guns was used to make a third hole in a mafioso’s meatball
