Fatalis is my favourite hunt and I haven't even killed him yet. Update: just killed him with 44s to spare. My fucking heart. He died in a fucking terrifying way too. I was roaming ballista'ing him and he fired some fire, it hit me just as the killing bullet hit him, nearly had a heart attack i swear. Also, still my favourite hunt by far, one of the best first time experiences I've had in gaming.

actually Fatalis came earlier than thought. Only after the cutscene where Aiden (The Ace Cadet from 4U) saves you there is a signal flare declaring that "support" (the other hunters) just arrived. So there were more than just two hunters willing to face Fatalis, but they were late. Also in my mind, considering it is a joined operation and the first emergence of Fatalis since ancient times... I think that these other hunters are we but in other Monster Hunter Games, like Generations Ultimate.

@@crossfire4691 Buddy, the developers themselves stated Fatalis is top of the ecosystem. There is no statement or implication that this Alatreon fought Fatalis (if it had, there would have been a cue, broken wings or horn, like Kirin had before Rajang). The General emphasizes that elder dragons seemingly vanishing heralds the arrival of Fatalis. The point the game makes here is obvious, as obvious as a nerfed fight before the final battle of the expansion; even Alatreon doesn't stick around when Fatalis shows up.

I'm not saying fatalis isn't powerful his species is definitely at the top but that doesn't mean base fatalis is suddenly stronger than every living thing when they're beings like dire and alatreon who hae both been implied to be equal to fatalis and dire may possibly be stronger. But that's a debate for another time

Honestly as awesome as Fatalis is, I feel like he took the spotlight from the overall story of World, we were basically following the Jiva line as they evolve and even teased us by turning his scales black through out the fight, but at the end we didn't see him evolve into a black dragon, unless they have a secret update they'll add to the game, which i doubt it.

When the game said that Fatalis was never meant to be the name of a monster the first thing that came to my mind was that Fatalis got his name from a scribbled note found much later. The note would have been kind of like this: "Fatal is the black dragon, his breath so powerful even the earth melt before it. Even the the sun scorn his name, beasts and elders alike all flee before him. No mortal should be foolish enough to face it alone, *mental breakdown noted down* -Castle Shrade's guild manager"

He was right tho, when he said that Fatalis isn't a god i mean. Fatalis destriyed a city ? Well, drop a teostra in a city and the result would be the same. Breath fire ? That's a fricking dragon, of course it does, nothing special here. Destroyed the ancient civilization ? Nope, he was the alpha of the elder dragons for sure, but he ultimately got reckt like the others, the ancient civilization simply lost too much in this war to be an allmighty force again. And, well, that so-called god get killed by one hunter twice, like any other monster. Let's face it, it's just an old fire dragon, he has nothing of a god, so many more recent monsters would obliterate him or simply represents a bigger threat to the world.

@@kingofflames738 you know honestly now I want a monster game in which we actually get to go over there and maybe there is a mysterious side plot of as to why the hunters are now allowed to hunt monsters over there and maybe turns out that they basically did something could easily end up leading to possible end of humanity and they want someone (your hunter) to prevent it from happening this would of course lead to you hunting new and more powerful monsters (just like with every other game in the series) and maybe even a new weapon type heck the flagship monster for this could even be a black dragon powerful enough to go toe to toe with fatalis and possibly even beat fatalis which would make this new black dragon an even greater threat I don't know but that to me sounds really cool if done right as matter of fact you could even have something similar for a potential monster hunter stories 3 or possibly some other spinoff monster hunter game.

You can get the evil eye from the plunder blade. Tell your friends. Essentially you can get every material from him as long as you can break the wings (easy) and the head once (hard). Meaning you can get the armor and weapons from him without killing him.

You can get the materials but the actual armor set and weapons wont appear until you actually killed him (I have already tried this)

To my understanding the General is from the Hunters Guild whereas the Commander and Admiral are part of the research comission, so the General isn't actually their superior. Like, the Guild is a separate entity from the comission.
