You've all seen those accordion file folders...I think that's where I'm going to put the map tiles, organized by their ID code. It'll free up space in the box as well as making the map tiles easier to find.

with the original gloomhaven box i was able to stack the map tiles in numeric order to make setup a bit easier, but wasn't able to pull that off here. those file folders you speak of seems like a smart approach :)

Much better than the way they shipped Gloomhaven! I NEEDED an organizer for that game. After watching this, I don’t think I’ll buy an organizer for Frosthaven. Thanks for the video!

yup, i'm passing on an organzier myself. i'm totally happy with that's in the box (maybe an accordiion style file folder for the terrain tiles though)

That bay for monster cards is labeled that way because that is where the cards (wrapped up) started initially. To me it feels a little too tight to hold all monster cards. But I also plan to either always have 2 boxes or to eventually trim all monster cards from the box when the app is completed by Lucky Duck

I should add: those 3 large plastic bags DO NOT come with the game. They were extras I had lying around :)

What?!?! It's unplayable without including those 3 bigger baggies. ;) Thanks for the reboxing video. Makes me wonder how many of the 3d printable storage solutions can be reused for Frosthaven, especially for all those monsters. I want quick access to the monsters, which means also including that 5x5 inch monster card with the action cards and standees. Whenever I get my box, I may need to add a supplemental box for better organization. Which makes me ask, when does a game box become too big and should be split into multiple boxes? I think Frosthaven and Gloomhaven are on that edge.

we're in washington state. i would hope december is likely... they say they expect everyone in the states to have it by mid jan iirc

@Inferno I don't think there's a rhyme or reason for who gets it except you have to have only ordered the core game with no add-ons. The Facebook group has people all over the US getting their core box.

yes, i heard someone talking about this recently in an interview. backers who go for all-in pledges end up getting stuff later than the base pledges because it's an efficiency/logistics issue at the warehouse that the base pledges can be done easier and faster, so they all go out first.

i didn't mention it, but the square monster cards down at the bottom of the box are also in alphabetical order :)

It looks like a great setup, but I am somewhat concerned that the monster attack cards might get bent in the bags. Other than that, great job! Long-term, it seems the plastic of the inserts is a little flimsy, particularly the piece that's almost at the bottom and is "bent". You seemed to have some issues getting that to fit back in properly, and that seems like the kind of stress that will add up over time.

i only had trouble putting it back in because i wasn't standing up and oculdn't see what i was doing because the box is so tall. i sit in a fairly low chair while filming :)

@@rahdo Sure, but I mean that the bit in question seems a little structurally dubious. Sure, take it out and put it back in once, or twice, or even a dozen times and it won't be a problem, but fifty? Seventy?

@Rhado, how did you fit the smaller token tray into the larger one so that they're flush? Whenever I try, the 2-hex tiles in the larger tray prevent the smaller tray from nesting inside of it. I've been looking everywhere, and I can't find an answer. How did you overcome this?

thats weird that it's not working for you. mine fits like a glove. you can see the underside of the top tay is specifical contorued to make room for the double hex tiles below, i'm not sure why that wouldn't be the case for you. maybe you should ask on the frosthaven forums on boardgamegeek: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/295770/frosthaven/forums/0 and see if anyone else is having a similar problem :(

Man, actually looking at this game complete and hands on is a dream. I actually get depressed that I don't live in the US and the game will either take years to come to my country, or it will absolutely cost my kidneys because of my country's political economics :( Enjoy that for me please! (will wait on Tabletop simulator at least, they truly deserve the money for the physical game and it's a statement in the shelf, but I have no other option)

I just watched for morbid curiosity. I'm tired for you after seeing this LOL The most I set up for myself is Merchants' Cove or Bitoku but I usually set up for a few games in a row :P Plus I have invested in Stonemaier token holders for easier setup.

I have a friend who has all my Pandemic Legacy games and has Gloomhaven (his) and will have Frosthaven (Brought between the group). I don't have space among my stacks and stacks of other games so I appreciate his shelf space for the campaign stuff 😄

as i understand it the game is sleevable and fittable, but i'm not a sleeving kind of guy so i can't confirm

@@rahdo Having played OG Gloomhaven and only using sleeves on the active action cards we used, I regret not using sleeves on the attack modifier decks. Each player has their own action modifier deck that starts at 20 mini cards, and monsters have one as well (it looks like Frosthaven adds one for allies, and they also have one for town guards). As the mercenaries advance, they get perks that let them add or remove cards from their decks, and there are also effects that temporarily add or remove cards (mostly curses and blessings). When a mercenary retires, that player resets the action modifier deck to "neutral". Now, what we learned after playing for a while was that the core decks, particularly the core monster deck, got a whole lot more wear and tear than other cards. Eventually we could tell whether the card on top of the monster deck was a curse one of us had added or a normal card. So when I'm getting my Frosthaven, those cards at least will be sleeved. Had we played with monster action cards instead of using an app, the same would go for those.
