To me this song embodies the soup of emotions that occurs when you get a woman alone, behind closed doors. And the prim and proper, graceful, beautiful, idyllic feminine creature turns into a raging animal. It's sexy, and fascinating and freeing, and a little scary. Kind of emphasizing the differences between how one acts because of society and tradition and civilized restraint, versus the fact that underneath we are all feral turbulent emotions driven to the edge of control. it's kind of nice when you find that out, especially the first time.

The album that Change is on (White Pony) was a highly anticipated album in the Rock community when the song came out. Very clean transitions from heavy instrumentations to soft melodies. They have an “ethereal” sound in my opinion. Yeah, this song is pretty dark. He has controlled his girlfriend to the point that she's not the same, she has changed into a fly with no wings. He's ashamed to look at the cross as he has turned from it's teachings, and he's so lost he feels his only recourse is to kill himself. When he says he's home, he is saying he is in the same place his 'lifeless' girlfriend is in, due to him destroying her.

He got them to come out of that place or lifestyle and it was like they were the same person, and he finally professed that if he ever died for anything it would be this person. This song I’ve heard people think it’s very similar to what being in positions of power can do to you, especially with being online and being able to bully and blackmail people while remaining completely anonymous. I think this is sort of putting light on the erotic S&M/Power Fantasy kind of thing people don’t realize they have until they are allowed to act out on it. If you like this kind of song, “Far Behind” by Candlebox, “The Freshman” by Verve Pipe, and “Shake Me Down” by Cage The Elephant (highly recommend watching the music video to this if you ever get around to it) are all somewhat up beat but also sad and powerful songs about days that once were
