This is exactly why Anne Yatco had no right being this damn good at her job. It gives me conflicted feeling as to wether switch to EN or JP during quests and events Ei appears (Ei's japanese VA, Miyuki Sawashiro, is my favorite female seiyuu, and she voiced many characters that made me watch their anime just bc of her presence, like HunterxHunter and Demon Slayer. She also voices Raiden Mei in Honkai 3rd and Acheron in HSR)

tbh it gets even more chilling when you remember the line in Venti's drip marketing, which was : "The true feelings of the prodigal son." - The whisperings of the Cecilia flowers. idk what that has anything to do with Raiden's SQ but the word "prodigal son" stood out the most for me, like-- what the hell happened between Istaroth & Venti? :,D

The way this quest ties the first story quest of Raiden is god tier storytelling. People loved to shit on her first story quest even though it was clear as day setting the ground and the atmosphere for this one to shine. Raiden is simply amazing and her writing is one of the best in the game.

One little thing that I really liked is that this game showed change happening gradually over time. Most games, once you finished the main quest, everything would just instantly change and be fixed. But when you finish the Archon Quest branch, she does end the Vision Hunt but lets the Sakoku Decree stay in place. Inazuma is slightly better but still has many problems. An air of oppression still remains. There is a truce with Watatsumi, but no peace. Then with the end of the quest, she ends the Sakoku Decree. I was pleasantly surprised when I went to Ritto and found everyone's spirits were better and the shops had opened. We also have things like Kokomi's story quest gradually moving us towards peace. Then we have the festival a few patches later where people come from all over the world, and it really feels like a new era is beginning in Inazuma. And the fact that we saw it playing out over time, piece by piece, made it feel kind of realistic and very satisfying.

Also has the same feeling about the music: I think is already written, but not orchestrated, if you know what I mean. The big pillars of the game were already built before the game was even coded.

I read a theory that Paimon acted as a "time beacon" during our entrance into the chaos space that somehow helped us reach the exact moment in time Ei and the Raiden Shogun were. That's pretty interesting.

So when the traveler was going back to makotos consciousness they said they were going backward and forward in time, which means when Ei said they were fighting for 500 years it went 500 years in the past, than the tree got planted which appeared for past Ei when she got back from khaenri'ah. Which is very interesting for going forward but backward in time.

Haha I know that pain. I just lost my 50/50 for Navia to Tighnari earlier today! This is good! I didn't have Tighnari! It reminded me of last patch when I lost my 50/50 for Furina to Dehya! That was also good! I did not have Dehya! I now have 20 pulls and want to get Raiden Shogun! This is stupendous! I like my odds! Haha ... I am purposefully leaving out that I got Navia 20 pulls later and that Dehya came in a double 5* roll with Furina first so getting her was actually a guarantee reset and allowed me to get C1 Furina... a literal 90 pulls later... but I do still want that C2 Raiden and I know that I need a lot of pity for it so... PITY ME!

People should really look at Ei and not easily judge her when shes one of the best archon out there She lost her general on a war that was provoked by enkanomiyans what she supposed to do stand there happily give her land She lost her trusted oni friend due to corruption and have no choice but to kill She lost saiguu when she's about to rescue makoto on khanreiah She lost her sister (a god) on a war that gave her PTSD that line about what she saw "that thing" still give me chills She created several PROTOTYPE as she searching the most perfect form to store her again she creeated a vessel/prototype not a child still people dont understand that She program the shogun to do her duties, got betrayed by her military, cospired by 2 commisions and fatui. Sorry i can only see a god who dont want to repeat the horror she saw BY ANY MEANS. Slay thunder bird and orobashi who's going ballistic on her territory and somehow shes painted as the bad guy

She assign a commission to confiscate vision. Again confiscate not kill. You can say it's a technicality but people should also look at the lines in the game. Tomo died coz she challenge the shogun. Even kazuha understand that tomo is the one who initiated the events on his death. Kazuha is a criminal on inazuma coz he interrupted the shogun confiscating tomo vision so he's a wanted criminal. The other who got their vision confiscated based on the game either got their vision forcibly taken away or voluntarily gave it away.

I understood your idea. Let me summarize the past timeline (extremely short) and the current situation. This is the information I collected, about 90% correct because I didn't research too much about lore. She has protected Inazzuma for over 2000 years. And after the event 500 years ago, because of the bad terrain and the overflowing abyss of her country, Inazuma was almost destroyed and she had to rebuild everything from scratch. Too much loss from everyone, relatives (Makoto also died at this very moment), friends and even worse, "Abrasion" has been happening on her body. It make her to think of turning herself into something immortal and eternal to protect her legacy. She created Raiden not to avoid responsibility, but out of fear and worry that in the future without her, who would protect Inazuma. There was no one to teach her, no one by her side. It all made her misunderstand many things, including her sister's (Makoto) Eternity. She still tried to do what she thought was right, creating the Raiden puppet to become immortal and staying for more than 400 years in the Shogun puppet, and Inazuma was still very normal and nothing major happened. until now All problems that occur in Archon quets are limited to 1 year before the Traveler story begins. And it is brought together by many problems from many directions, not all of which are in Ei. Despite the fact that she was the main decision maker in Sadoku and hunting Vison. But a lot of information was distorted and hidden by the two clans under Shogun control, because of Fatui's involvement. Information reaching Raiden about the civil war and popular sentiment was hidden and inaccurate, causing the puppet and Ei to assume that the country's situation was fine. A small fact: Ei created 3 clans with the task of managing and acting as a bridge between the people and the Shogun. All the information she has is from these 3 clans. Regarding the civil war, Watatsumi was the one who started the war and with the inherent hatred from the fact that their God Snake was killed and Fatui provided Delusion (false vison). Fatui urged them to sabotage the temple guarding the evil spirit, causing nearby people to die. Even though they had good intentions, I think from the beginning, they started a war that could have destroyed them. And when it comes to issues with the people, the two clans under her make things difficult for them, collecting taxes, controlling the people.... in general, the people cannot approach the Shogun and the clans abuse their power and are too delusional. These two clans are the main ones responsible for this. And after the war, the Shogun did many things to correct the mistake. Disband the army, provide jobs for everyone, food and money for the affected people. Organize exchange events to reassure people. Handle and rectify the management system of 2 clans that abuse power. Signed peace with Watatsumi. And most importantly, she understood what Eternity is and will do better in the future. Besides, how to punish a god? obviously not possible. Every country has problems with its people at some point, including Mondstad

Coz they abuse the fact that Raiden puppet only concern is stasis or not moving forward (her definition of eternity). Also for any lore reader there's an npc named Nathan that is a fatui gaslighting the army of both sides igniting the civil war of inazuma

Spoilers for Fontaine exploration lore (ig??) Looking back on this story quest and thinking about the paper found in Fontaine by the tower. (if you know you know) It makes me wonder if Ei will become the new Makoto of the next Samsara while the puppet becomes the new Ei. Especially with the puppet calling herself a shadow, just like Ei thought of herself as??? Idk, maybe I'm cooking and burning the house down, but I thought it'd be a cool connection if that theory was correct, because if Teyvat is in a loop, then this shows a sign of it repeating?
