British diplomat R. H. Bruce Lockhart in 1918 ~ p195 All that remains in my mind is the memory of the railway journey from Christiania to Bergen. (sic) The scenery, wilder, more picturesque than the Canadian Rockies, provided the proper background for my own melancholy. The wild stretches of moor, the lofty peaks and tortuous ravines, the lochs and turbulent trout-streams, above all, the firs and the birches, their leaves golden with the first tints of autumn, reminded me of Scotland. At Bergen I met Wardrop, who was to take my place in Moscow. ... ~ p212- The next morning we made the railway trip-the most wonderful in the world-from Bergen to Christiania. It was not to my mind so impressive in winter as in the autumn.

Well after getting in from Voss and shutting down that cab then heading the other end to get that cab set up for your run east, do hope you have a chance in the insuing hour to get into the station for a shot break before departure. As always, thank you so much for these videos of Norway. Really enjoyed the nice, leisurely run east from Voss as you paced yourself so you would not pass any request stop too soon. So it looks like your day when you filmed this was Voss - Bergen, Bergen - Myrdal then ended with Myrdal - Voss which would put you close to your hours of service.
@RailCowGirl3 жыл бұрын
Yes :) Had almost a good hour. Usually this train should be running double set. In that case I would have to go out into the yard in Bergen to get the other train set and couple them. Then it's hardly even time to go to the bathroom before you're heading off again.

I think you maybe have a “dry” cold there so even though it’s that cold it doesn’t hurt like a “wet” cold. We have wet cold in Louisiana in USA & it really hurts to be out in it. In bergen and all the way to Voss you have a wet cold, but at Voss it's more a dry cold as long as the lake is covered with ice :) Ice makes things better. I could never ever imagine how this would feel in Louisiana. I know how humid it can be there during the summer, making everything stick to your skin ;) Remember the awesome food from The Shed just off of I10 and 57 :D
