I’m a 15+ year veteran of the railroad industry…I’ve worked all over the continental US - I’ve seen some pretty beautiful country in my career…form the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to Glacier National Park in Montana…I can definitely say that your line is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen. Cool to see the beautiful scenery of your country now too.

Hello from Russia! Some species are so similar to our native Urals. The same great mountains and snow-covered Spruces. The quality of the tracks is just impressive, almost no joints at the tracks and the train rides completely silently and such a huge number of tunnels. Thank you for your hard work!

So glad you like it :D Using a 24mm Cine lens as that focal length brings it as close to reality of what we really see :) Steered clear of the ultra wides as it makes mountains look small :) With this setup I'm able to really show people what it truly looks like :D

Those little posts with snow on them (eg at 03:21:38) look oddly like a small person standing beside the track until you get closer to them! Most disconcerting. Imagine the value these videos (shot in good weather and bad) will have to future historians of Norway and of railways in general. The detail is incredible and although they only show a thin pencil line across the country, their value and fascination to people in 100 years will, I think, be huge. A selection of them should be placed with some long term preservation bod (is there a national archive body for Norway?).

A lot of my ancestors came from high in this valley, so it's interesting to see the terrain and flora where they lived. I actually took this train route when I was there to Nesbyen, but the weather was cold and heavy rain, so I turned around and got on the next train back to Oslo (since I didn't have proper cold or wet weather gear while backpacking).

One of my father’s ancestors was from Dale, and I suspect another was from Voss (assuming it was the original form of that family branch’s Foss surname), and I wouldn’t be surprised if one of my mother’s friend / coworker’s ancestors was from Myrdal.
