Otherworldly sights on the mountain plateau is an understatment for this trip. The light, clouds and changes was like nothing I've seen before. These are the things that makes this job som incredible. The ever changing scenery. Check the chapters for timestamps.
Starting off at Voss I'm taking this FLIRT (Fast Light Intercity and Regional Train) from Voss to Ål. The destination for this train is Sundland Workshop in Drammen, but I'm not going all the way today.
I have also named every single tunnel with length as well as every level crossing that is in use today.
Enjoy!

This one fooled me. It was looking more and more menacing, and just when I think it's gonna get stormy, around 58 minutes, bam!, all that brilliant Sunlight over the valley. Stunning. I also love the Desolate tone this trip takes on for a while there. I seen houses and buildings, but no people in sight. Just you and the train zipping along. Surreal and gorgeous all at once. Cheers

@@RailCowGirl Thanks RCG. All your trips cool me down, literally and figuratively🌝. As if the heat isn't bad enough (this is the 6th consecutive day over 113) we also have at least 10 different wildfires burning up our beautiful state right now, maybe more. I really have a new respect for the men and women fighting them. They're getting the double whammy; the intense heat of the 🔥 along with the sizzling 🌞

RCG has done it again! How impressive the improvements are - the derailer was new to me, more info. The unsuspecting and involuntary cowboys - fellow employees having their privacy protected - on the platforms are much better than putting some pixelation on them - a fun factor that they are surely liking, just as I am. The flat spot on a wheel (possibly on both wheels on the same axle) was probably on the front bogie because it was so easy to hear. And the double horn at Finse-Tunnel's highest point instead of a text message is another fun factor for all of us regular viewers. RCG you have a very welcome sense of humour - especially in these so depressing times.

I never cease to be amazed at just how good other countries infrastructure is compared to the UK. Our trains grind to a halt due to any snow , leaves or crisp packets on the line or when it is too hot. This is despite huge public subsidies and extortionate ticket prices. For a supposed 1st world country we sure as hell have 3rd world services...

Blackmagic has been such a favourite of my camera as a filmmaker and to see it utilised in the most scenic locations is so comforting. As a filmmaker you’ve really inspired my creativity and imagination and I’ve already started writing a feature film in which most of the film will be cabin recordings with a story Ofcourse. I would love to collaborate with you on that once I have something solid. Also, you’re so talented and amazing, I’m pretty sure we all as your viewers would love to hear more about your own journey of becoming a train operator and engineer, that’d be truly satisfying, thanks for such meditative videos, you’re doing a phenomenal job !!

2:02 Lol :)) I like the introduction again, it's not just a ride, but also the beginning that you have to sleep somewhere, go to the set, revive it ... it won't work on its own. Nice work, just keep going. He greets the driver from the Czech Republic

Plus, we get free Norwegian lessons! Today we leaned "nedre" for 'nether' (like in Netherlands'), "motre" for 'middle', and "øvre" for 'farther' ... all included in our Winter Wonderland tour. Woo-Hoo!

This video was super fascinating to view...what a sight! I wonder how isolated people can get around in weather such as that--especially ones who reside east of, say, the Finse area. Wow.

A year and a half on, I'm eagerly enjoying this video again. I noticed, this time, that your unoccupied train, at the beginning, had its running lights on. Were they on all night, or did you click a transponder to alert your loco that you were incoming? And also, a year and a half later, I knew that the white "eyes" looking at you as you started meant - stop and wait - sure enough, another train passed you by. I learned about these lights after you started driving freight. And, ooh!, the video where you took a freight down the mysterious Voss spur line! I was so excited when that video came out.

Ah, I see at the beginning the new addition to the cab's items, hand sanitizer. Also like your pointing to that pile of sand and rocks blocking your path, true fall risk. I have now watched the whole video and really enjoyed it, as I always do with your cab rides. Winter in your part of Norway is beautiful with the green trees against the white snow. Just a little reminder of something you forgot, at the 1:55 mark you passed a passing loop and forgot to put in its name as you had been doing for the whole ride. Again thank you so much and keep these coming.

Yay, another treat for us! Thank you for this, a godsend at the end of a stressful week. ...I'm 18 minutes in. Listening to the noises the train makes, I wonder: was the transfer to the workshop due to wheel flats?
