Beautiful train ride! Right on the left bank of Balaton! Lake Balaton which is the largest lake in Central Europe. I remember being in Balatonfured and Alsoors when the old line was still served by diesel trains. Perhaps it had a greater charm but still the landscape is worth it. Szekesfehervar (Hungarians forgive me if I got the accents wrong) is a beautiful city with one of the largest stations in all of Hungary, with 10 platforms served and 8 converging railway lines. I noticed that the line was renewed a few years ago with the support of the European Union and you can see many new features on the platforms and in the stations, which is also a sign of Hungary's economic growth. The trip to the counties of Fejer and Veszprem was beautiful. The H-Start and Mav Start trains still retain the yellow-blue liveries typical of the Hungarian railways. You can also see an old red Skoda locomotive which is mostly used in Slovakia (see Bratislava-Levice video). Budapest has 3 stations: Deli, Nyugati and Keleti (the main station) and in Hungarian the term "palyaudvar" designates the large station of the large cities, while the term "Vasutallomas" indicates the station or intermediate stop between the larger stations. I have never understood why the southern Balaton line, meaning the Budapest - Zagreb line, given its intense traffic, has never been doubled, or the doubling has not been thought of. Are the reasons economic or landscape or political? Thanks again for this beautiful video! Budapest and I have wonderful memories. It is my favorite capital in Europe and I always have good memories, as well as in Szekesfehervar where I always bought delicious bottles of Tokay and Bikaver, two typical Hungarian wines! thanks for this nice video!

It's actually called the northern shore, obviously the one opposite is the south shore, not left and right. And don't worry - no need to apologize), it's perfectly understandable without accents, not required to type them out on a non-Hungarian keyboard.

Ich wusste gar nicht, dass die Balaton - Nordstrecke elektrifiziert ist. Als ich 2015 während eines meiner vielen Aufenthalte am Balaton von Balatonfüred nach Tapolca gefahren bin, war noch nichts davon zu sehen.
@RailRelaxation Жыл бұрын
@detlefneubert5395 I am not sure, but I have an impression that they invest quite a lot in the railway structure....
@szekelygergely7114 ай бұрын
it's only partially electrified, catenary was installed from Székesfehérvár to Balatonfüred only so far. Maybe also worth mentioning, because of the geogrpahy of the area and the lack of suitable HV conenctions, building some new substation in the Balatonfüred area was found to be unfeasable, so the electification was realized with a 2x25kV system (as you may notice the two "extra" wires, the positve and a negative feeder besides the contact and catenary wires), which is otherwise completely uncommon in Hungary.
@Keikdv Жыл бұрын
So not used to see electric lines at the north side of Balaton 😞 They have ruined some stations with those high platforms. I do hope they never reach Tapolca... Missed 59:15 a Gigant (630) on the left! But, why is the tumbnail inverted?
@szabibajusz3571 Жыл бұрын
Hello! Don't get your hopes up because the entire northern coast will be electrified up to Keszthely,as soon as the money becomes available. Thus,Tapolca aiso reaches the wire. I cannot tell you exactly when the second phase of the electrification of the northern shore of Balaton will start. All stations will have elevated platforms,the through track and the open line track will be renewed,as in the first phase.

@sellier-bellot22 I have to admit that I had some troubles to pronounce them...
@tamaslukacs3173 Жыл бұрын
Yes, we have some "weird" sounding words in English. But in Hungarian they mean something completely different.. These are already considered classics. There are also many words that sound the same in Hungarian, but have different meanings. E.g. "ár" can be a punching tool, flood, price, area measure. Even a name is Áron. There are also many words that mean almost the same thing, but their pronunciation is different. eg "Megy" walks, runs, light runs, jogs. Not to be confused with the word "meggy ", which means sour cherry. In addition, emphasis can completely change the meaning of words. His sentences too. E.g. Hazám házam. My country, my house The place of the comma in the sentence is important, because it also changes the meaning of the text. You can even change it from approval to denial. We also have jokes about them. So we are not simple. However, many variations of words can be put together and they will all make sense. E.G. mar has ág ok ; marhaságok (separate bite abdomen branch reason; a lot of nonsense) I think this is extraordinary, especially if we take into account that it is spoken by a maximum of 15 million people.
