Oh I miss LA! When I lived there, these grade crossings were so routine, but now I moved away, I miss them so much, since not every big city has them.

UPDATE: All railroad crossings along the original Gold Line (later L Line in 2020) are now part of the Blue Line (A Line since 2020), with the Regional Connector now complete. The A Line took over the L Line running towards Pasadena and Azusa, finally accomplishing LA Metro's original vision of the "Pasadena Blue Line".

Im always gonna call it the gold line

Nice video! I've noticed how some of the crossings on this line have their bells set to ring the entire time while some have theirs only ring from startup, until the gates lower.

Nice!!! It’s funny how there is that strange font on the crossbucks and mostly the lights are incandescent lights

You know it’s funny that the blue line had their railroad crossings replaced with leds in the 2000s but metro is too stubborn to change the gold line ones

Do you know that all railroad crossings among the Metro Gold Line (original 2003 segment) had GS type 2 electronic bells until possibly 2006 or 2007 when they all got replaced with WCH electronic bells.
@threepea11512 жыл бұрын
Actually most of them were WCH Type 1 E-Bells

@Alexander Banos I actually discovered in a commerical that the mission street/meridian ave crossing used to have Mechanical bells that were replaced at some point, possibly more signals had them too

IDK if they will replace the gates, since WCH was very common in the 2000s

I've always had a fascination for these signals, though I have to say that I've never come to grips with e-bells. Maybe I'm just having an off day, but it seems like most of the bells in this video are grating my nerves worse than usual. 😬
