At 3:10, it says the railroad crossing is a private crossing. That means the crossing is on private property, but you noticed that the private railroad crossing is equipped with gates and lights. That's great! No matter if it's a public or private railroad crossing, every driver needs to have a warning or an indication that a train is approaching.

joethenark my town in Louisiana only has one signal on both sides. 4/7 of those are gateless cantilevers backed up by regular signals with gate motors behind them. the rest are standard signals with gate motors. overall they all have the best gs bell: the type 1 tuned to sound like a type 2. pretty cool. only trains we get through here are KCS, KCSM, UP, and NS. VERY FEW IC trains pass through here.

Anyways I've been on my electric bike and stopped at some of the train tracks and didn't realize there were so many different signal signs. Pretty neat if you ask me! All 4 gates descend at the same time, which is out of order. A vehicle on the crossing would have no way to escape, that is why the 4 quadrant gates are sequenced to allow escape. The fact that there is a Stop sign just 50 feet from the crossing means that vehicles could get backed-up on the crossing with no where to go when the lights start flashing. These crossings with a Stop sign on a busy highway are, in reality, Death Traps. When vehicles are bumper to bumper, as often happens at rush hours, it would be easy to get trapped on this crossing.

You go and stand over the tracks and face the train as it goes under you. Gives a great shot of AWESOME you feel as if the train will hit you. It is a spectacular experience.
